NFL Power Rankings Week Fifteen – Just In Time To Miss The Cut

It’s NFL playoffs or bust and boy some teams are really busted. There’s always a bunch of teams in the middle of the pack at this point in every season but a lot of these teams are trending downwards.

The teams that are at or close to the top seem to have big game after big game with no room for error. These last three games should provide us with some real dramatics as these teams knock each other out of contention.

1. Baltimore Ravens (11-2)
The AFC playoffs road will run through Baltimore. No other team in that conference looks like they will be able to make it through that path.

2. San Francisco 49ers (11-2)
The 49ers are one of the only teams with a top three offense and a top defense. They can turn it up on both sides of the ball when they have to.

3. New Orleans Saints (10-3)
The Saints can ratchet up their offense at will versus any opponent. They have scored 30 or more points in eight games this season.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (9-4)
After defeating the Patriots, the Chiefs are now a game behind them for a first round bye. They face one team with a winning record in their last three games.

5. Green Bay Packers (10-3)
The Packers will have to go through their division in their bid for a first round bye. They are currently on a two game winning streak, averaging 25.5 points per game during that stretch.

6. Seattle Seahawks (10-3)
Seattle missed a real opportunity to solidify a playoff spot. They also failed to keep pace with San Francisco for the division lead.

7. New England Patriots (10-3)
The Patriots are once again involved in shenanigans revolving around video footage of an opposing team. They should focus more on looking at video footage of their offense.

8. Buffalo Bills (9-4)
Buffalo gave it a good go versus the Baltimore Ravens but ultimately couldn’t pull out the win. The Bills seem like they are good enough to beat anybody but something is missing.

9. Minnesota Vikings (9-4)
The Vikings have won three out of their last four games as they attempt to solidify their playoff position. They have forced a turnover in 12 out of the 13 games they’ve played so far.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5)
The surging Steelers have won three straight games. They will have two tough match ups down the stretch versus Buffalo and Baltimore, with a tilt against the New York Jets sandwiched in.

11. Houston Texans (8-5)
The Texans have to be the most up and down team in the league. One week they look like they could go to the Superbowl and the next week they look like the inside of a toilet bowl.

12. Tennessee Titans (8-5)
The Titans have now won four straight games and they control their own destiny to win their division.

13. Los Angeles Rams (8-5)
The Rams are making a strong playoff push with their current two game winning streak. They will face two division leaders in their next two games.

14. Chicago Bears (7-6)
The win streak for Chicago has reached three games and they’ve won four out of five overall. They are going to have to find a way to keep the turnovers down in their last three games.

15. Cleveland Browns (6-7)
O’Dell Beckham Jr. has 59 catches for 844 yards and two touchdowns this season. His usual explosion filled games have been replaced with a lot of complaints and whining this season.

16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7)
The Buccaneers have won three straight games and they feature one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL, scoring 29.1 points per game.

17. Dallas Cowboys (6-7)
Dallas is a game under .500 and tied for first place in their division. They are on a three game losing streak, averaging 16.0 points per game in that span.

18. Philadelphia Eagles (6-7)
Even after their victory over the New York Giants, the Eagles don’t look very good. They’re tied for first place but you have to believe the winner of this division will have a .500 or worse record.

19. Indianapolis Colts (6-7)
The Colts losing streak has now reached three games and they’ve basically knocked themselves out of a playoff spot.

20. Oakland Raiders (6-7)
Oakland has given up point totals of 34, 40, and 42 on their three game winless streak. They rank 29th in points allowed this season.

21. Denver Broncos (5-8)
Denver has won both of Drew Lock’s starts, scoring a total of 61 points. Lock has thrown for 443 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions.

22. Los Angeles Chargers (5-8)
The Chargers snapped their three game losing streak by having their highest point total of the season. This marks one of only three games where they didn’t turn the ball over.

23. Carolina Panthers (5-8)
The Panthers didn’t even look like they showed up at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They’ve lost two games to Atlanta and have been outscored by 46 points in those games.

24. New York Jets (5-8)
The Jets have won four out of five games, averaging 26.0 points per game in that span. All the rest of their opponents this season have a winning record.

25. Atlanta Falcons (4-9)
There’s little to nothing the Falcons have to play for at this point. These next games will be similar to preseason games, where the team will be evaluating players and coaches.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9)
The Jaguars haven’t won a game since October 27th. In the five games since, they have ten turnovers and they have eclipsed the 100 yard rushing mark only once.

27. Arizona Cardinals (3-9-1)
The Cardinals losing streak has reached six games now. They need upgrades all over the field and will pick high enough in the draft to start doing so.

28. Miami Dolphins (3-10)
The Dolphins rank 30th in total yards gained and total yards allowed this season. Their kicker Jason Sanders seems to be in rare form at least.

29. Washington Redskins (3-10)
Even though their two game winning streak has been snapped, the Redskins’ defense has been playing better. They have forced seven turnovers in their last three games.

30. Detroit Lions (3-9-1)
Detroit has pushed their losing streak to six games. They have ten turnovers in that span.

31. New York Giants (2-11)
The Giants have to be looking forward to the NFL draft at this point. They should have their eye on a game changing defensive player.

32. Cincinnati Bengals (1-12)
After snapping their season long losing streak, the Bengals went back to their losing ways. They are almost a shoe in for the number one overall pick on the NFL draft.
