Five Home Runs For The Braves Lead To Victory Over The Marlins

Atlanta GA – The Atlanta Braves (82-51) hit five home runs and get an 8-1 victory at home over the Miami Marlins (55-76).

Starting pitcher Charlie Morton (7-5) struck out seven batters through 5.0 innings pitched and got the win for the Braves. He allowed four hits including a solo home run by Marlins’ right fielder Jerar Encarnación and a walk.

Travis d’Arnaud hit two home runs (16). The first one was a two-run home run that drove in Dansby Swanson in the bottom of the fourth inning and the second was a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Austin Riley also hit a home run (34) in the bottom of the seventh inning. This is Riley’s third straight game with a home run.

Michael Harris II went 2-4 with a single and a home run that drove in d’Arnaud. Vaughn Grissom hit a home run (4) that scored Harris II. Grissom also walked.

Marcell Ozuna returned to action for the first time since August 21st and went 2-4 with two singles. Ronald Acuña Jr. had a double and a single.

The starting pitchers for Saturday’s matchup will be Jake Odorizzi (5-5) for the Braves and Edward Cabrera (4-2) for the Marlins.
