Braves Win Fifth Straight NL East Title

Miami, FL – The Atlanta Braves (101-60) clinched the National League East division in a 2-1 victory over the Miami Marlins (68-93). This is the Braves’ fifth straight season clinching their division.

Through 5.0 innings, Braves’ starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi (6-6) got the win with seven strikeouts and allowed a run on two hits and a walk.

Kenley Jansen closed the game with his 41st save. Jansen is now in eighth place for the MLB all-time saves list (391).

Travis d’Arnaud went 2-4, including his 25th double of the season and a run. William Contreras had two hits including a single that drove in d’Arnaud.

Ronald Acuña Jr. had a single that drove in Orlando Arcia and walked twice.

This marks the Braves’ 22nd division title, which is the most division titles in MLB history.

The Braves will finish their last regular season game against the Marlins on Wednesday at 4:10 p.m. eastern.

The projected starters will be RHP Elieser Hernandez (3-6) for the Marlins and LHP Max Fried (14-7) for the Braves.
