Riley And Acuña Jr. Help Braves Win Their 80th Game Of The Season

Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Braves’ (80-51) two home runs give them the win against the Colorado Rockies (56-75,) 3-2.

Braves’ starting pitcher Kyle Wright earned his 17th win of the season (17-5), giving him the most wins in the Major Leagues this season. He pitched seven scoreless innings, struck out six batters, allowed five hits and a walk.

Relief pitcher Kenley Jansen gave up two runs in the ninth before collecting his 30th save. This is Jansen’s eighth season with 30 or more saves.

Austin Riley hit a two-run home in the bottom of the first inning that also scored Dansby Swanson. It was his 32nd home run of the year. 

Ronald Acuña Jr. returned to action after missing the last three games (right knee soreness). He hit a solo home run (11 in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was his first home run since August 13th against the Miami Marlins.

William Contreras went 2-3 with two singles and Michael Harris II had a double and a walk..

The starters for Thursday’s series finale are RHP Spencer Strider (8-4) for the Braves and RHP Chad Kuhl (6-7) for the Rockies.
