Double-Digit Strikeouts Lead To Braves’ Loss Against The Rockies

Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Braves (79-51) struck out 12 times in a loss to the Colorado Rockies (56-74), 3-2.

Braves’ starting pitcher Max Fried lost his fifth game of the season (12-5). He pitched 5.0 innings and allowed seven hits, three runs and a walk with three strikeouts.

Austin Riley went 2-4, including a single, a double (36) and a walk. He also scored a run off of Eddie Rosario’s double (8) in the bottom of the third inning. Rosario went went 1-3 with a walk.

Vaughn Grissom went 1-3 with a walk and a stolen base. He scored off of Dansby Swanson’s double (29) in the bottom of the second inning.

Although the Braves had seven hits, they left eight runners in scoring position. The Braves had a total of three stolen bases.

The series will continue on Wednesday with projected starters RHP Kyle Wright (16-5) for the Braves and RHP Ryan Felter (2-5) for the Rockies.
