NFL Power Rankings Week 18 – Play Your Position

The 3 Point Conversion would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the family of Bills’ Safety Damar Hamlin. We are all hoping for a full recovery.

In light of what happened this past Monday in Cincinnati, when we reach the entries for the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, we will be ranking them without analysis as their game has been understandably postponed.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (13-3)
Philadelphia can clinch the number one seed in the NFC with a win or tie versus the Giants, or if a few other teams lose.

2. Buffalo Bills (12-3)

3. Kansas City Chiefs (13-3)
The Chiefs will need 35 points to reach 500 total points on the season. It would mark the second time in Patrick Mahomes’ career that his team has reached that number.

4. San Francisco 49ers (12-4)
The 49ers might be the toughest out in the playoffs and they can control the number one seed in the NFC with a victory and an Eagles’ loss.

5. Cincinnati Bengals (11-4)

6. Dallas Cowboys (12-4)
Dallas can still win the NFC East with a win versus the Commanders and an Eagles’ loss to the Giants.

7. Minnesota Vikings (12-4)
Minnesota snapped a two game winning streak and have now gone 2-2 in their last four games. They finish the season playing the Bears in Chicago.

8. Los Angeles Chargers (10-6)
The Chargers have gotten a bit healthier over the last month or so and their play has shown it. They are riding a five game winning streak heading into their season finale at Denver.

9. Baltimore Ravens (10-6)
For the past few weeks this has turned into the Lamar Jackson watch and for the past few weeks I have told you something like “his status is uncertain for this week.” Nothing has changed this week.

10.  New York Giants (9-6-1)
The Giants will be the sixth seed in the NFC win, lose, or draw on Sunday. They can’t improve their seed, but they can put a monkey wrench in the Eagle’s plans.

11. Jacksonville Jaguars (8-8)
The Jaguars can clinch the AFC South with a win or tie versus the Titans. They could also sneak into the playoffs if they lose that game and a few other teams lose their games.

12. Seattle Seahawks (8-8)
Seattle will need a victory over the Rams and a Packers’ loss or tie to the Lions to get into the playoffs.

13. Green Bay Packers (8-8)
The Packers can clinch a playoff spot with a win in their showdown versus Detroit. No team in the NFC will want that to happen.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8)
The Buccaneers can win the NFC South with a victory on Sunday and then they can host a team that’s way better than them in the playoffs.

15. New England Patriots (8-8)
Bill Belichick can clinch his one millionth playoff berth with a win versus the Bills.

16. Miami Dolphins (8-8)
It feels like we’ve been saying the Dolphins can clinch a playoff spot with a win for about three weeks. They need a win and a Patriots’ loss to sneak into the playoffs.

17. Detroit Lions (8-8)
The Lions can clinch their first playoff berth since the 2016 season with a win and a whole bunch of other stuff happening.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8)
The Steelers can grab a playoff spot with a victory versus Cleveland, combined with a Dolphins’ loss and a Patriots’ loss.

19. Tennessee Titans (7-9)
If Tennessee can beat the Jaguars on Sunday, they will win the AFC South. If they can’t, they probably have to wonder what happened at the end.

20. Washington Commanders (7-8-1)
Washington is in that paradox of just missing the playoffs combined with not picking high in round one of the draft. They have a bunch of question marks in the offseason.

21. New York Jets (7-9)
The Jets can eliminate division rival Miami and sweep the season series with a win on Sunday.

22. Carolina Panthers (6-10)
There is talk of bringing Jim Harbaugh over to be the head coach in Carolina, but Steve Wilks deserves the job.

23. New Orleans Saints (7-9)
The Saints need a victory over Carolina and a some real magical stuff to happen in week 18 to possibly sneak into the playoffs.

24. Cleveland Browns (7-9)
Cleveland won’t make the playoffs and they won’t get to use their own first round pick. That’s not the best formula for sustained success.

25. Las Vegas Raiders (6-10)
Will the Raiders trade Derek Carr? If so, how many teams would truly be interested?

26. Atlanta Falcons (6-10)
The Falcons currently hold the seventh pick in the 2023 draft and they’ve got to target a defensive player of some sort.

27. Los Angeles Rams (5-11)
What will the Rams look like next year? This has got to be one of the worst performances of a defending Super Bowl champion we’ve ever seen.

28. Arizona Cardinals (4-12)
The Cardinals could face a ton of problems in the offseason. They currently hold the fourth pick in the draft.

29. Indianapolis Colts (4-11-1)
The Colts currently hold the fifth pick in the in the 2023 NFL draft. Maybe they’ll find a young quarterback that can play for awhile, instead of quarterbacks that have already played for awhile.

30. Chicago Bears (3-13)
Justin Fields needs 64 yards to set the all time single season record for rushing yards by a quarterback.

31. Houston Texans (2-13-1)
Houston currently control the first and twelfth picks in the 2023 draft. They’ll need a big hit at both of those slots.

32. Denver Broncos (4-12)
Nathaniel Hackett has already been relieved of his duties and judging by the way the team is talking, they wish Russell Wilson would follow him out of town.
