Late Comeback By Nationals Leads To Loss For Braves

Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Braves (93-56) gave up the lead against the Washington Nationals in a 3-2 loss. This loss ends the Braves 10-game home winning streak.

Relief pitcher Jesse Chavez allowed a two-run home run by Joey Meneses in the top of the seventh inning to give Washington the lead.

Bryce Elder struck out six batters through 5.2 innings and allowed four hits, a run and two walks. 

Ronald Acuña Jr. had two singles, including a single that scored Robbie Grossman in the bottom of the second inning. Michael Harris II went 2-4 with two singles.

The Braves will travel to Philadelphia on Thursday to take on the Phillies (80-67). The projected starters for Thursday’s matchup will be Max Fried (13-6) for the Braves and Ranger Suarez (9-5) for the Phillies.
