- The 3 Point Conversion Mid-Season Top 50 Prospect Big Board - October 19, 2024
The NFL season is quickly approaching, with teams beginning to round out their rosters during the preseason. In that group are 350+ rookies who will don a NFL uniform for the first time. Those rookies were once prospects hoping to one day play in the NFL, and this year is no different. Hundreds of college football athletes will take the field in 2023 hoping to hear their name called in April. All are not made equal though, so here are the top 50 NFL prospects for the 2023-24 season.
1. Marvin Harrison Jr. – WR, Ohio State
HT: 6’3″ WT: 205lbs
2022 Stats: 77 Receptions – 1,263 Yards – 14 Touchdowns
Harrison is one of the most electric wide receivers to come out of college football…ever. His size, speed, and hands combination make him a generational prospect, and the best in the 2023-24 crop.
2. Caleb Williams – QB, USC
HT: 6’1″ WT: 215lbs
2022 Stats: 4,537 Yards – 42 Touchdowns – 5 Interceptions – 168.5 Passer Rating
This kid could be the next great young signal caller to come straight from college football and make a splash in the pros. He has the arm and mobility, but adds a great IQ as well. Easily makes an impact year one in the NFL.
3. Olumuyiwa Fashanu – Tackle, Penn State
HT: 6’6″ WT: 321lbs
2022 Stats: 542 Snaps – 0 Sacks Allowed
Olu Fashanu would’ve been the best tackle in the draft last year and that doesn’t change here. He is a mauler, and can match power or finesse as a left tackle. Barring a fall off a cliff he is an instant plug and play prospect.
4. Brock Bowers – TE, Georgia
HT: 6’4″ WT: 230lbs
2022 Stats: 63 Receptions – 942 Yards – 7 Touchdowns
Take Travis Kelce and Rob Gronkowski and put them in a particle collider, Brock Bowers is what you would get. He is the perfect modern day tight end. He possesses the speed, size, and blocking that every team wants.
5. Drake Maye – QB, North Carolina
HT: 6’4″ WT: 225lbs
2022 Stats: 4,321 Yards – 38 Touchdowns – 7 Interceptions – 157.9 Passer Rating
After a breakout year in 2022, Maye is looks like the real deal. His accuracy, arm strength and poise in the pocket all translate as elite to the next level.
6. Quinn Ewers – QB, Texas
HT: 6’2″ WT: 195lbs
2022 Stats: 2,177 Yards – 15 Touchdowns – 6 Interceptions – 132.6 Passer Rating
Probably the most polished passer in the draft, Quinn Ewers fits the bill of an NFL QB. He may need a year of grooming but for a guy who’s ceiling is Aaron Rodgers, any team would take that gamble.
7. Bo Nix – QB, Oregon
HT: 6’2″ WT: 213lbs
2022 Stats: 3,593 Yards – 29 Touchdowns – 7 Interceptions – 165.7 Passer Rating
Nix has dual threat ability that has become popular in the NFL and is a very accomplished passer. If he can continue his ascension as a signal caller he is easily a 1st year starter at the next level.
8. Kool-Aid McKinstry – CB, Alabama
HT: 6’1” WT: 195lbs
2022 Stats: 35 Total Tackles – 29 Solo Tackles – 1 Interception – 15 Pass Defended
Oh Yeah! Kool-Aid McKinstry is the real deal, he has ideal size for the cornerback position with room to add to his frame. He is good in both man and zone coverage and can play in any scheme at the next level.
9. Shedeur Sanders – QB, Colorado
HT: 6’2” WT: 215lbs
2022 Stats: 3,732 Yards – 40 Touchdowns – 6 Interceptions – 160.4 Passer Rating
Whatever questions you have about Shedeur Sanders making the jump to Power 5 play will squashed this year. Sanders has the arm talent and IQ to be successful, he should flourish in Colorado.
10. Jared Verse – DL, Florida State
HT: 6’4″ WT: 253lbs
2022 Stats: 22 Tackles – 9 Sacks
Verse is a monster of a man that can play anywhere along the defensive front. His violent hands and body control allow him to be dangerous against the run or as a interior pass rusher.
11. Joe Alt – Tackle, Notre Dame
HT: 6’7″ WT: 317lbs
2022 Stats: 807 Snaps – 0 Sacks Allowed
There aren’t many men that can move like Joe Alt at 6’7″ and 317lbs. Alt’s an effortless athlete and has great inside out hand discipline which will allow him to play either tackle position with little drop off.
12. Michael Penix Jr. – QB, Washington
HT: 6’3″ WT: 214lbs
2022 Stats: 4,641 Yards – 31 Touchdowns – 8 Interceptions – 104.1 Passer Rating
Penix is one of the few pure passers in this draft. He has a solid base, textbook pocket awareness, and the arm talent to make NFL throws look easy. There are questions about his durability which could hurt his stock, but with the right team he could be a long-term starter at the next level.
13. Emeka Egbuka – WR, Ohio State
HT: 6’1″ WT: 205lbs
2022 Stats: 74 Receptions – 1,151 Yards – 1 Touchdown
If you took Chris Olave and fused him with Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Emeka Egbuka is who you would end up with. His size, hands and precision route running make him one of the most sound receivers in the 2024 class.
14. Bralen Trice – Edge, Washington
HT: 6’4″ WT: 256lbs
2022 Stats: 39 Total Tackles – 23 Solo Tackles – 10 Sacks
Bralen Trice has an argument to be the best defensive lineman in the 2024 class. The issue is his size translates more to being a standup Edge at the next level. Regardless, he has all the tools to be a dominant force in Washington this season and build on an amazing 2022-23 campaign.
15. Dallas Turner – LB, Alabama
HT: 6’4″ WT: 240lbs
2022 Stats: 37 Total Tackles – 16 Solo Tackles – 4 Sacks
Turner is the best all-around linebacker in the class. He can play either 3-4 ILB, 4-3 OLB, and even rush from the edge. The only knock on him is that he is not a striker at the point of attack, which leads to him slipping off would be tackles.
16. Jordan Travis – QB, Florida State
HT: 6’1″ WT: 201lbs
2022 Stats: 3,214 Yards – 24 Touchdowns – 5 Interceptions – 110.1 Passer Rating
Jordan Travis had an under the radar season in 2022-23. He now boasts one of the most talented receiver rooms and should be able to showcase his full repertoire in 2023-24. Travis has the makings of a can’t miss prospect and can solidify that claim this year.
17. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. – LB, Clemson
HT: 6’0″ WT: 230lbs
2022 Stats: 89 Total Tackles – 49 Solo Tackles – 7 Sacks – 2 Interceptions
Much like his father, Trotter Jr. is a traditional Mike Linebacker. He is a physical and instinctual defender with a knack for being around the ball on every play.
18. Treveyon Henderson – HB, Ohio State
HT: 5’10” WT: 214lbs
2022 Stats: 571 Rush Yards – 5.3 YPC – 28 Receiving Yards – 7 Total Touchdowns
Treveyon Henderson possesses all the qualities of a starting running back in the NFL. Vision, lateral quickness and good contact balance make him a legitimate candidate to make an immediate impact at the next level. He will need to improve in pass protection to be a 3-down back but he is still the top option in the 2024 class.
19. Xavier Worthy – WR, Texas
HT: 6’1″ WT: 163lbs
2022 Stats: 60 Receptions – 760 Yards – 9 Touchdowns
Worthy is a speed demon in every sense of the word. A former 100-meter track athlete, Worthy shows elite acceleration and top speed on deep routes. He is a headache to defend due to his run after catch ability and slippery moves in the open field.
20. Brennan Armstrong – QB, NC State
HT: 6’2″ WT: 210lbs
2022 Stats: 2,210 Yards – 7 Touchdowns – 12 Interceptions – 67.0 Passer Rating
Armstrong was one of the most productive passers in college football at Virginia and has all the tools to be just that at the NFL level. More of a scrambler (think Ben Roethlisberger), Armstrong extends plays with his legs and routinely capitalizes on broken plays. He is a natural leader and has a poised demeanor in the huddle – he should wow scouts this season at NC State.
