NFL Power Rankings Week Six: A Big Shift Has Happened

Ab Stanley

1.  Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)
Last week # 1

The Chiefs are the best offensive team in football, moving up to first in points and second in yards. Alex Smith has 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

2.  Green Bay Packers (4-1)
Last week # 7

Packers only loss was to the Atlanta Falcons on a day when they had two back up offensive tackles. Aaron Rodgers has thrown the most touchdown passes in the league. The offense keeps rolling no matter who’s in there or who they are playing.

3.  Atlanta Falcons (3-1)
Last week # 2

Coming off the bye week, the Falcons should be getting healthy. Still think they have the best team in the NFC. Their defense is still very underrated.

4.  Philadelphia Eagles (4-1)
Last week # 9

The Eagles have scored at least 26 points in all of their wins. LeGarrette Blount is starting to heat up. Running against them is a very difficult task.

5.  Carolina Panthers (4-1)
Last week # 11

Cam Newton is starting to get in rythm with back-to-back games tossing three touchdowns. The defense continues to be stingy ranked third in yards against.

6.  Denver Broncos (3-1)
Last week # 5

The Broncos have the best balance of offense and defense in the league right now.

7.  New England Patriots (3-2)
Last week # 8

New England has gained the most yards in the NFL. They’ve scored 27 and 30 points in two losses. Chris Hogan is Tom Brady’s new go to guy with five touchdowns in five games. Offense is too good, they will still win 11 games.

8.  Seattle Seahawks (3-2)
Last week # 13

Seattle defense has given up 20 or more points only once this season. The offense is all Russel Wilson right now. He’s scored nine of the teams ten offensive touchdowns this season.

9.  Buffalo Bills (3-2)
Last week # 3

Buffalo is still tops at not giving up points. A loss to Cincinnati looks bad but Buffalo still racked up three turnovers in the game.

10.  Pittsburg Steelers (3-2)
Last week # 6

A very bad showing by Ben Roethlisberger shouldn’t make you believe the team is done (or he is yet). The defense is still stout and the running game is coming around.

11.  Detroit Lions (3-2)
Last week # 4

Detroit seems to be in every game. They are third in rushing yards allowed.

12.  Los Angeles Rams (3-2)
Last week # 10

After their worst scoring output of the season, the Rams still rank second in scoring. In the worst game of the season for Jared Goff, they still had a chance to win it late. Going to be tough to beat this team if you can’t score.

13.  Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2)
Last week # 21

The Jaguars score and they dont give up a lot of points. Blake Bortles has not performed all that well but the run game with rookie Leonard Fournette has come alive.

14.  Minnesota Vikings (3-2)
Last week # 18

The Minnesota defense is stout. They are top eight in both yards and points allowed. Sam Bradford should be back soon.

15.  Baltimore Ravens (3-2)
Last week # 23

The Ravens are second in forcing turnovers. They have looked really good in three wins and really bad in two losses.

16.  Dallas Cowboys (2-3)
Last week # 14

The Dallas offense has been good and getting better. The defense is not stopping anybody however. They have given up at least 35 points on all of their three losses.

17.  Houston Texans (2-3)
Last week # 12

With 12 passing touchdowns and two rushing, Deshaun Watson leads the NFL in total touchdowns. The defense has suffered some key injuries but because of Watson, they are now fourth in scoring.

18.  New York Jets (3-2)
Last week # 24

I really hate saying this before week 10 but if the playoffs started right now the Jets would be the sixth seed. They’ve won three straight games.

19.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2)
Last week # 17

Jameis Winston and the Bucs passing attack ranks third in yards despite only playing four games. The defense is up and down, they need more consistency on that side.

20.  Oakland Raiders (2-3)
Last week # 15

Oakland remains in the middle of the pack in almost every offensive and defensive category. The running game has been disappointing.

21.  New Orleans Saints (2-2)
Last week # 19

As long as Drew Brees is there, the Saints willl score. They are seventh in yards gained even after their bye week.

22.  Washington Redskins (2-2)
Last week # 16

Redskins are seventh in rushing and eighth in total yards. They don’t play a complete game and they turn the ball over too much.

23.  Tennessee Titans (2-3)
Last week # 20

Another team with two good looking wins and three bad losses. Quarterback Marcus Mariotta nedds to get back soon.

24.  Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)
Last week # 25

The Bengals are getting better. Their defense is really good and they rank second in both yards and points allowed. They still need to put together better games and maybe they’ll start a win streak.

25.  Miami Dolphins (2-2)
Last week # 28

It was an unimpressive win versus Matt Cassel (not Marcus Mariotta) and the Titans. Jay Cutler failed to reach 100 yards passing. He did throw a touchdown however (whoopie). Their defense has been great especially against the run. The offense needs to find an identity  (or a new quarterback ).

26.  Indianapolis Colts (2-3)
Last week # 29

The Colts have the most rushing touchdowns in the league. They could improve in almost every other category. Kicker Adam Vinatieri has made nine out of ten field goals (GOAT).

27.  Arizona Cardinals (2-3)
Last week # 22

The trade for Adrian Peterson should help them tremendously. They are second in pass yards and 32nd in rushing yards.

28.  Los Angeles Chargers (1-4)
Last week # 26

The Chargers and Phillip Rivers still have success through the air and the defense can stop most passing atacks. They are dreadful on the ground and against the run. They don’t excel at anything else either.

29 . Chicago Bears (1-4)
Last week # 27

The Bears can shred you with their rushing attack, while the arial assault leaves much to be desired. They are sixth in total yards allowed but a lowley 27th in yards gained.

30.  San Francisco 49ers (0-5)
Last week # 31

Four of their five losses are by three points or less. They’ve lost two straight in overtime. It seems San Francisco is a really unlucky team or they just find ways to lose.

31.  New York Giants (0-5)
Last week # 30

Giants look dreadful on offense and now have almost no weapons left. Season ending injuries to both Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall caused the Giants to have no true number one reciever. No running game, no recievers and a subpar offensive line in front of an ageing Eli Manning.

32.  Cleveland Browns (0-5)
Last week # 31

The Browns are actually fifth in points allowed (I know right). They have turned the ball over more than any other team. Starting quarterback DeShone Kizer has been benched in favor of Kevin Hogan. The Browns are trying everything they can to snatch a victory.
