NFL Power Rankings Week 13 – The Next Contender

Who is the top team in the NFL right now? Can you really point your finger at one particular team and think they are the team to beat?

Well the answer here is yes, you can definitely start to identify the better teams in the league. Sure, there’s a couple of teams that will make a run late and dash into the playoffs, but the bulk of the playoff picture is showing now.

The new question becomes, who will stay at the top and can anyone in the middle make a strong move forward?

1. Green Bay Packers (9-3)

The Packers head into their bye week ranking fifth in points allowed and seventh in total yards allowed.

2. Arizona Cardinals (9-2)

Arizona comes off their bye week to face the Bears in Chicago and then a big showdown with the Rams at home.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-3)

The Buccaneers have won two in a row, outscoring their opponents 68-41. They have eight total turnovers in those games.

4. Baltimore Ravens (8-3)

The Ravens have won two straight, despite turning the ball over five times during that stretch. They have 17 turnovers on offense this season.

5. New England Patriots (8-4)

The new Patriots look eerily similar to the old Patriots. A great defense and an offense that takes care of the ball and makes plays with less than household names.

6. Kansas City Chiefs (7-4)

The Chiefs come off their bye week to face all of their divisional opponents three weeks in a row. They can really separate themselves if they can get a clean sweep of those games.

7. Tennessee Titans (8-4)

Tennessee heads into their bye week losing their last two games. They have a total of nine turnovers in those two games.

8. Cincinnati Bengals (7-4)

The Bengals have won two in a row after snapping a two game losing streak. They have five turnovers in the last two games.

9. Dallas Cowboys (7-4)

Dallas is ranked second in points scored and first in total yards gained, but have averaged only 21.0 points per game on a two game losing streak.

10. Los Angeles Rams (7-4)

The Rams are only a game ahead of the 49ers and now two games behind the Cardinals for the division lead. The team is winless since they added Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr. to the roster.

11. Buffalo Bills (7-4)

Josh Allen threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns, helping Buffalo get to the 30 point mark for the seventh time in 11 games. The Bills are 6-1 when they score at least 30.

12. San Francisco 49ers (6-5)

The 49ers are currently on a three game winning streak, but will be without Deebo Samuel for a couple of weeks. Samuel leads the team in receptions, receiving yards and total touchdowns.

13. Las Vegas Raiders (6-5)

The Raiders snapped a three game losing streak and didn’t turn the ball over for the first time since week six. The win puts them right in the middle of a tough AFC West race.

14. Denver Broncos (6-5)

The Broncos have won three out of their last four games to push themselves into the middle of a tough division race. They are currently ranked third in points allowed.

15. Cleveland Browns (6-6)

The Browns head into their bye week averaging 10.0 points per game in their last three games. Cleveland is 1-2 during that stretch.

16. Los Angeles Chargers (6-5)

The Chargers have lost three of five, scoring a total of 57 points in the losses. They have fallen to 14th in total points.

17. Indianapolis Colts (6-6)

Despite the loss, Indianapolis scored at least 30 points for the sixth time in the last seven weeks. The Colts are 5-2 during that stretch.

18. Minnesota Vikings (5-6)

The Vikings snapped a two game winning streak, mostly because of two turnovers. Minnesota had one turnover in their previous four games.

19. New Orleans Saints (5-6)

The Saints have lost four in a row, turning the ball over six times. The six points they scored against Buffalo was their lowest output of the season.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5-1)

Pittsburgh hasn’t won a game since week nine. They’ve allowed a total of 98 points in the three games since.

21. Miami Dolphins (5-7)

The Dolphins have pushed their winning streak to four games, giving up a total of 46 points during that stretch. They have also forced ten turnovers in those four games.

22. Washington Football Team (5-6)

Washington has reeled off three wins in a row since they had their bye week. They’ve allowed a total of 55 points during that stretch.

23. Atlanta Falcons (5-6)

Cordarrelle Patterson has 911 total yards from scrimmage and nine offensive touchdowns this season. The Falcons have to get him the ball as much as they can.

24. Philadelphia Eagles (5-7)

The seven points Philadelphia scored on Sunday was their lowest point total of the season. They had more turnovers on Sunday than they had in the previous four weeks combined.

25. Chicago Bears (4-7)

The Bears are still struggling to score despite their win over the Lions. They are ranked 29th in scoring and 30th in total yards.

26. Carolina Panthers (5-7)

Cam Newton had as many pass attempts (five) as he did rushing yards, which wasn’t a bunch in either case. Christian McCaffrey is out for the season with an ankle injury and that news couldn’t come at a worse time.

27. New York Giants (4-7)

The Giants fired their offensive coordinator to score a grand total of 13 points this week. They got the win, which ultimately counts more than anything.

28. New York Jets (3-8)

The Jets are 3-2 when they score 20 or more points. They’ve scored a total off 67 points in their other games.

29. Seattle Seahawks (3-8)

Seattle has been awful on the ground during a three game losing streak, averaging 65.0 rushing yards a game. They haven’t gone over 100 yards rushing as a team since week six.

30. Houston Texans (2-9)

The Texans rank 32nd in both points scored and total yards gained. After a 37 point outburst in week one, the team has scored a total of 127 points in ten games.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9)

The Jaguars have lost three straight, scoring a total of 41 points. They have allowed 74 points during that stretch.

32. Detroit Lions (0-10-1)

Detroit hasn’t reached 20 points in any game this season. They are 30th in points scored and 29th in total yards gained.
