Braves Increased Their New Winning Streak in Washington DC

Washington D.C. – The Atlanta Braves (55-37) get their second win in a row by defeating the Washington Nationals (30-62) 8-4.

Braves RHP Ian Anderson pitched 5.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts and allowed three hits.

Austin Riley extended his hitting streak to 11 games by hitting a 2-run home run in the first inning which gave the Braves a 3-0 lead. That was Riley’s 26th home run of the season which has him tied for third place in the Major Leagues (Yordan Alvarez).

The Braves hit a total of three home runs including home runs from Orlando Arcia (4) and Adam Duvall (12). Matt Olson went 3-5 with three singles and three RBI.

Atlanta moved a half game up behind the New York Mets and are 2.0 games back total. The Mets’ game against the Chicago Cubs was postponed due to weather and will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Braves resume play on Saturday at 1:35 p.m.but have not yet decided who the starter will be.
