The Atlanta Braves Complete Sweep After Austin Riley’s Walk-Off Double

Atlanta, Ga – The Atlanta Braves (62-41) sweep the Arizona Diamondbacks (45-56) in 1-0 victory after a walk-off double by Austin Riley.

Riley doubled to deep right center, scoring Matt Olson from first base (1-4, single) with one out. With that double, Riley passed Hank Aaron for most extra base hits in a single month (26).

Max Fried pitched 7.0 scoreless innings allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Relief pitcher Kenley Jansen entered the game in the ninth inning and earned the win with a strikeout and a walk (5-0).

Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud threw out two base runners attempting to steal second base including Jake McCarthy to end the top of the ninth inning.

The Braves are off on Monday and return to action Tuesday at home against the Philadelphia Phillies. The projected starter for the Braves is RHP Spencer Strider (5-3, ERA 2.91) going up against RHP Cristopher Sanchez (1-1, ERA 3.8).
