Tennessee Titans Week Three Analysis

Nashville – In a pivotal game for the Tennessee Titans, they faced off against the Green Bay Packers in their second home game of the season. The Packers came into the game with former Titan Malik Willis under center as starter Jordan Love was out with a knee injury.

Tennessee came into the game having dropped their first two games and looked to get their first win of the year.

Overview

Tennessee had a rough game from start to finish. The offense for a third straight week couldn’t get anything going and the defense looked out of sorts.

Will Levis had his third straight game with at least two turnovers and was sacked a total of eight times on the day. He ended his day 22/29 (75.8%) for 219 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

The defense had a rough day as they gave up the most yards to an opponent to this point of the season. The Packers had 375 total yards, with 202 of that coming through the air on the best pass defense in the league. Malik Willis gashed the Titans as he had 73 yards on six carries with a touchdown to boot.

The special teams had a good showing after multiple weeks of miscues. The Titans fall to 0-3 on the season and will now look forward to a long week as they prepare for week four.

Positives

The Titans had a strong showing in the red zone: they went 100% (2-2) for the first time this season.

Penalties were almost non existent for the team as they only had two for 15 yards on the day.

Redzone and goal-to-go defense was stout, holding the Packers to a combined 40% (2/5).

Negatives

The defense gave up 375 totals yards, the most this season.

The offense didn’t fare any better, having their worst showing of the season. Tennessee was 33% (3/9) on third down and (0/1) on fourth down conversions. They also gave up eight sacks, the most this season for the team.

The rushing offense, which has been a bright spot, totaled just 33 yards on the day.

Tennessee is now dead last in turnover differential and leads the league in total turnovers.

The Titans will now shift their focus to week four as they prepare for a Monday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins at HardRock Stadium. It will be their second straight game facing a backup quarterback.
