Atlanta, Ga – The NFL announced that Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates III has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 2.
Bates finished last week with 12 total tackles (seven solo), one tackle for loss, two passes defensed and a interception to seal the 22-21 win for the Falcons over the Philadelphia Eagles with 19 seconds left. This is the third Defensive Player of the Week award for Bates in his career.
The Falcons are 1-1 and will host the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday night.
