Braves Lose In The Bottom Of The Ninth By Walk-Off Walk

St. Louis, MO – The Atlanta Braves (79-49) lose to the St. Louis Cardinals (73-54) after walk-off walk, 6-5. The Cardinals snapped the Braves’ 10-game road winning streak.

In the bottom of the ninth with the Braves up 5-4, Kenley Jansen gave up a double, single, hit a batter and gave up two walks and two runs, including a bases loaded walk-off walk.

Braves’ starting pitcher Charlie Morton pitched 5.0 innings and allowed four runs, which included a pair of two-run home runs, five hits with three walks and struck out five batters.

Travis d’Arnaud’s had two hits including a single and a three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning that gave the Braves a 3-0 lead.

Austin Riley went 3-4 with two singles, a double and a run. Matt Olson had two hits and two runs.

William Contreras had a double and a run that came from a Michael Harris II single.

The projected starters for the series finale will include RHP Jake Odorizzi (5-5) for the Braves and  RHP Adam Wainwright (9-9) for the Cardinals.
