Braves Keep Winning Streak Alive Against Marlins In Doubleheader

Miami FL. – The Atlanta Braves (69-46) won both games of the doubleheader against the Miami Marlins (50-64 to push their winning streak to five games.

 

Game 1: Braves defeat Marlins 5-2.

Braves pitcher Kyle Muller was credited for his first win of the season. Muller pitched 5.0 innings, allowing three hits, including a home run and a walk with five strikeouts. Relief pitcher Kensley Jansen had his 26th save of the season.

Catcher Chadwick Tromp made his Braves debut and went 3-4 with three RBI, two doubles and a single.

Matt Olson went 1-5 including a solo home run (23rd of the season).

 

Game 2: Braves defeat Marlins 6-2.

Braves pitcher Ian Anderson collected his 10th win of the season. Anderson allowed five hits, a walk and two runs in six innings pitched. Relief pitcher Dylan Lee pitched through two innings with four strikeouts.

Relief pitcher Raisel Iglesia earned his 17th save of the season.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-4 including a leadoff home run (10th) in the top of the first inning. Acuña left in the top of the seventh inning with right knee soreness and is listed day-to-day.

Matt Olson also went 2-4 including his 24th home run of the season and three RBI. Olson has hit a home run in three straight games.

Braves rookie Vaughn Grissom went 2-4 with two hits including his second career home run and two RBI.

The Atlanta Braves look to close out the series against the Marlins Sunday at 1:45 p.m. The Braves have not decided on their projected starter. LHP Braxton Garrett is the projected starter for the Marlins.
