Braves Win Their Third In A Row

Washington D.C. – The Atlanta Braves won their third consecutive game by defeating the Washington Nationals 6-3.

Max Fried (10-3) collected the win by going 7.0 innings, allowing three runs and seven hits with four strikeouts.

After a rain delay in the 8th inning, RHP Kenley Jansen came in and closed out the game for his fifth save of the season.

In the third inning, the Braves took a 4-0 lead after back-to-back home runs from Matt Olson (17th) and Austin Riley (27th). It was the 9th time this season the Braves hit back-to-back home runs.

The home run by Riley extended his hitting streak to 12 games. It was announced early this afternoon that Riley was named to his first All-Star team by replacing Nolan Arenado from the St. Louis Cardinals.

RHP Spencer Strider (4-2) will start the series finale for the Braves on Sunday at 1:35. Washington hasn’t named their starter yet.
