2025 Miami Dolphins Draft Profile

Team Needs: Tackle, DL, Safety, IOL

The AFC East wasn’t the strongest division last year as the Buffalo Bills ran away with it at the top. The Miami Dolphins on the other hand finished second with a losing record, missing the playoffs.

After losing plenty of players this offseason, Miami will look to reload their roster utilizing the NFL draft.

Possible Targets

Will Campbell – Tackle, LSU

Billy Bowman Jr. – Safety, Oklahoma

Jamaree Caldwell – Defensive Lineman, Oregon

Part of the issue in Miami is their inability to create movement upfront. Their offensive line has been solid at best and could use improvement in 2025.

One of the best players in the draft class is LSU tackle Will Campbell. He has been a standout at LSU for four years, excelling at both run and pass blocking. He plays with excellent lower body drive and hand placement, allowing him to erase opposing defenders from plays.

With the uncertainty of offensive tackle Terron Armstead’s future, this could solidify the line. The Dolphins drafted Patrick Paul last season, so pairing him and Campbell would give them a solid duo for years to come.

The defensive side of the ball for Miami has been mostly up and down. The injury bug has been their biggest enemy besides inexperience, but talent can overcome that.

With Jevon Holland leaving for New York, there is a glaring need for a safety. Miami could look to target Billy Bowman Jr. on day two to fill the void.

Bowman Jr. is a ball-hawking safety with great instincts. He shows up in the run game as well, displaying the ability to take good angles and get to the ballcarrier. The upside is there at 22-years old and has a high ceiling.

Miami will also need to upgrade the defensive line. Benito Jones and Matt Dickerson are far from NFL contributors and the team may look to find an upgrade in a deep draft.

One player that can make a major impact early is former Oregon Duck Jamaree Caldwell.

Caldwell is a space eater with slippery movement techniques that will affect quarterbacks up the middle. He also has the size to stuff run gaps, a valuable asset in a division like the AFC East. He can play either the zero-technique or three-technique, allowing him to get the field early regardless of roster configuration.

Caldwell could end up being a steal on day three for Miami.

2025 will see a select group of rookies take their talents down to South Beach this season. These rookies will be looked upon to help Miami overtake the crown in a wide open division.
