2025 Dallas Cowboys Draft Profile

Team Needs: HB, WR, DL, LB

The Dallas Cowboys have been in football purgatory over the last three decades. They haven’t been able to get over the hump of “almost” despite the surplus of talent on their roster.

Jerry Jones and company will now look to add those floor raising talents via the NFL Draft in 2025

Possible Targets

Ashton Jeanty – Halfback, Boise State

Elic Ayomanor – Wide Receiver, Stanford

Ty Robinson – Defensive Lineman, Nebraska

Dallas’ biggest issue last season was the lack of top end talent at key positions, including injuries. The draft has some uber talented players that have been durable in their collegiate careers.

One such player is Boise State halfback Ashton Jeanty. He is the best back in the class this season and has all the tools to be great from day one.

He totaled 3,948 yards on the ground over the last two seasons on 594 carries without missing a single game. He is also a solid pass catcher out the backfield, which would be a perfect fit for this Cowboys offense.

Taking Jeanty should be a no-brainer for Dallas.

Despite having a top five receiver in CeeDee Lamb on the roster, the Cowboys have struggled as far as the other wide receiver spots. Lamb is one of the best in the business but needs that coveted wide receiver next to him.

Players like Elic Ayomanor don’t grow on trees and Dallas would be in a prime position to take him on day two. Ayomanor’s speed, strength and savvy route-running makes him a near perfect complement to Lamb.

He has the burst to beat defenses deep and force opposing coordinators to stay honest. He is also highly durable, playing in all 24 games of his collegiate career. Dallas could get a reliable second target with splash play-ability for Dak Prescott.

After losing long-time Cowboys player DeMarcus Lawrence, the team will be in the market to replace his production. They could grab a low risk-high value player on day three.

Nebraska’s Ty Robinson would be a prime choice for Dallas in the later rounds.

Despite being an older prospect, Robinson’s durability has never been a question. He played in 60 games during his collegiate career, not missing a game since 2021. He had a breakout year in 2024 that saw him total seven sacks and displayed his level of skill.

Robinson could come in and immediately fight for snaps and contribute as a rookie.

The 2025 holds a lot of talent and could be the key to the Cowboys being a contender or a pretender. This could be a monumental class for them as 2025 goes forward.
