Pelicans are discussing a trade for Philadelphia’s Okafor

New Orleans Pelicans are in advance trade discussions with the Philadelphia 76ers for center Jahlil Okafor. The Pelicans have been looking for someone to pair with superstar Anthony Davis. The Pelicans have been thinking about acquiring an offensive scoring big man alongside Anthony Davis. 

The teams have NOT yet signed off on the trade but the latest talks have New Orleans shipping Alexis Ajinca and a future first for Jahlil Okafor. Look for the Pelicans to be extremely active before the NBA trade deadline. They have also been connected to Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez.

Okafor has averaged 11.4 points per game (ppg) and 4. 8 rebounds per game (rpg). And in his career, he’s averaged 15.1 ppg and 6.2 rpg. He’s been dealing with getting consisted playing time with a crowded frontcourt including center  Joel Embiid and center/power forward Nerlens Noel.
