The wild NFL season of unpredictable endings and classic games is continuing without a hitch. We are approaching the mid way point of the season and it’s now starting to really feel like things are heating up.
There’s still a bunch of moves to make, not to mention a lot more movement in the standings, but everything seems to be moving along accordingly.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)
The Chiefs come off of their bye week for a big matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
2. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
Right after their bye week, the Vikings have a huge divisional game against the Detroit Lions.
3. Detroit Lions (4-1)
The Lions have scored 40 points or more in their last two games. They’re ranked number one in total points scored.
4. Houston Texans (5-1)
The Texans have pushed their winning streak to three games and they just came off of their highest scoring games of the season. Houston has outscored their opponents by a total of 88-61 during their win streak.
5. Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
Baltimore has knocked off their last four opponents, averaging 33.5 points per game. They rank first overall in total yards from scrimmage.
6. Washington Commanders (4-2)
Despite the loss, Washington is ranked second in total points scored and fifth in total yards from scrimmage. They’re still a top five rushing team and they rank first in rushing touchdowns.
7. Buffalo Bills (4-2)
The Bills trade for Amari Cooper is probably the one thing all parties involved needed. Cooper definitely needed a fresh start and the Bills needed the help at wide receiver.
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2)
Baker Mayfield leads the NFL with 15 touchdowns. The Buccaneers rank second in the total points scored and ninth in total yards from scrimmage.
9. Green Bay Packers (4-2)
Jordan Love is averaging 282.8 passing yards per game and 13.2 yards per completion. He’s tied for second in the NFL with 12 passing touchdowns.
10. Atlanta Falcons (4-2)
The Falcons have won three in a row, averaging 33.3 points per game during the steak. They have had at least 400 yards from scrimmage in their last two games.
11. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
The Steelers are undefeated when they hold their opponents to under 20 points. They’re allowing an average of 14.3 points per game this season.
12. Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)
A.J. Brown played his second game of the season and he has eclipsed 100 yards receiving in both games. He’s averaging 117.5 receiving yards per game.
13. Chicago Bears (4-2)
The Bears rank fifth in total points allowed and seventh in total yards allowed. They’ve only allowed one of their opponents to score more than 20 points this season.
14. Los Angeles Chargers (3-2)
The Chargers have allowed a league low 66 total points this season. They have allowed a total of seven touchdowns on defense.
15. San Francisco 49ers (3-3)
The 49ers have not won a game when they fail to score 30 points this season. They average 32.2 points per game in their victories and 21.3 points in their losses.
16. Dallas Cowboy (3-3)
It’s a pick your poison kind of deal when it comes to the Cowboys. You can’t tell if their downfall is due to their lack of a rushing attack, their abundance of turnovers, or the defense that can’t stop any parts of the opposing offense.
17. Seattle Seahawks (3-3)
Geno Smith leads the league in pass attempts, pass completions and pass yards. Seattle ranks seventh in total yards from scrimmage.
18. Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)
Joe Burrow is averaging of 263.0 passing yards per game with 12 touchdown passes and two interceptions this season. He would be the front runner for league MVP if the Bengals had a better record.
19. Denver Broncos (3-3)
The Broncos had their winning streak snapped at three, but they have some favorable matchups coming up. Their next two opponents have a combined 3-9 record.
20. New Orleans Saints (2-4)
Spencer Rattler threw for 243 yards and one touchdown in his first start of the season for the Saints. He also threw two interceptions and was sacked five times. Welcome to the NFL.
21. New York Jets (2-4)
The Jets pulled off a move to acquire wide receiver Davante Adams. Adams reunites with quarterback Aaron Rodgers to hopefully produce a potent one-two punch again.
22. Miami Dolphins (2-3)
After the bye week, the Dolphins head to Indianapolis to take on the Colts and then the Arizona Cardinals at home.
23. Las Vegas Raiders (2-4)
The Raiders started Aiden O’Connell in hopes of jump starting their offense, when it’s their defense that really needs a jolt. They’re allowing an average of 31.0 points per game in their losses.
24. Indianapolis Colts (3-3)
Anthony Richardson will return to the lineup this weekend, sending Joe Flacco back to the bench. Flacco had 716 passing yards with seven touchdowns in three appearances for the Colts this season.
25. Arizona Cardinals (2-4)
Arizona ranks 27th in total points allowed and 28th in total yards allowed. They’ve given up a total of 18 touchdowns on defense this season.
26. New York Giants (2-4)
The Giants are averaging 11.5 points per game in their four losses this season. They average 25.0 points per game in their victories.
27. Cleveland Browns (1-5)
You could say losing Amari Cooper will be devastating for the Browns’ offense going forward this season. You’d of course have to find some semblance of offense in Cleveland to make that claim.
28. Los Angeles Rams (1-4)
The Rams come of of their bye week to host Las Vegas and then the Minnesota Vikings.
29. New England Patriots (1-5)
Drake Maye finished his first start of the season with 243 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Patriots probably don’t want him to throw 33 times a game, but the rest of the season should be about developing his skills.
30. Tennessee Titans (1-4)
Will Levis has thrown at least one interception in every game he’s played this season. In 14 career games he’s thrown 11 interceptions.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5)
Jacksonville will stay in England to play this week’s game against the Patriots. Will Doug Pederson still be the head coach when they make it back to the USA?
32. Carolina Panthers (1-5)
Carolina has given up the most total points in the NFL (203) and they aren’t necessarily a juggernaut on offense themselves. They rank 28th in total points scored and 25th in total yards allowed.
