Denver, Colorado – The Atlanta Falcons suffered their worst loss of the season to the Denver Broncos, 38-6.

From the start of the game, it seemed like the Falcons were two steps behind. Atlanta enters the bye week to regroup and heal up.

Overview

It was one-sided from the jump. After the Broncos took the open drive for a touchdown, the Falcons were able to move the ball but multiple penalties stopped the momentum and they had to settle for a field goal. After that, the Falcons struggled from there.

Head coach Raheem Morris made no excuses about the loss.

“The ball didn’t bounce our way. It was a bad day all around across the board, offense, defense, special teams,” stated Morris.

The offense couldn’t really get in a rhythm the entire game. They only mustered up 226 total yards of offense.

Denver’s offense controlled the entire game. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix completed 28-33 pass attempts for 307 yards and four touchdowns.

Positives

The only positive was backup rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. got in the game in the fourth quarter. He completed two of four passes for 24 yards.

Negatives

Let’s start with the defense. They allowed 400 total yards and 22 first downs. The only sack they recorded was do to Nix tripping over his offensive lineman.

The offense didn’t get in the end zone at all. Kirk Cousins was sacked four times and the run game was nonexistent, only gaining 50 yards on the ground.

What’s Next

Atlanta head into the bye with a 6-5 record.
