Washington Football Team’s 2021 Schedule Features Three Primetime Games

The Washington Football Team’s 2021 schedule was released on Wednesday along with the rest of the NFL’s rollout. The season will open up at FedEx Field with a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers (Sept. 12 at 1 p.m.) which features a meeting between Offensive Rookie of the Year Justin Herbert and Defensive Rookie of the Year Chase Young.

The team’s first division matchup will be on Thursday Night Football against the New York Giants at home on September 16th at 8:20 p.m. Washington’s schedule also includes two additional primetime games with the Seattle Seahawks visiting for a Monday Night Football matchup (Nov. 29 at 8:15 p.m.) and a trip to Arlington, TX to face division rival Dallas Cowboys (Dec. 26 at 8:20 p.m.).

The final five games of the season will be a test with five straight divisional contests. The Football Team finished the 2020 season with a 7-9 record and first in the NFC East. Depending on their status in the upcoming season, those divisional games could be critical as they strive to repeat their success in 2021.
