The Braves Offense Lead The Way In The Win Over Mets

Atlanta, Ga – The Atlanta Braves (71-46) score in bunches to get the first win of their four-game home stand against the New York Mets (75-41), 13-1.

The Braves got three runs in the second inning including two home runs from William Contreras (16) and Eddie Rosario (4). There was a 55-minute delay in the bottom of the second.

Every batter in the Braves lineup had at least one hit. Atlanta scored eight more runs in the sixth inning alone.

Ronald Acuna Jr. had three doubles and drove in three runs. Dansby Swanson went 3-4 including a double and three RBI.

Vaughn Grissom went 2-3 (single and double) with a walk and scored twice. Travis d’Arnaud hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider (7-4) got the win in five innings pitched. He allowed an earned run off three hits and a walk, including four strikeouts.

Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco (13-5) left after the second inning with left side tightness. He gave up three runs on four hits and a walk with one strikeout.

The projected starters for Tuesday’s game will be RHP Charlie Morton (5-5) for the Braves and RHP Taijuan Walker (10-3) for the Mets.
