The College Football bowl season has officially come to a close with the conclusion of the Reese’s Senior Bowl & East-West Shrine Game. NFL scouts and coaches have had a chance to get up close and personal with some of the best talents in this year’s draft class, and boards are starting to shift.
Like any other organization this board has shifted as well. Here is the Bowl Season Top 50 Big Board, brought to you by The 3 Point Conversion.
1. Marvin Harrison Jr. – WR, Ohio State
HT: 6’4″ WT: 205lbs
2023 Stats: 67 Receptions – 1,211 Yards – 14 Touchdowns
The most electric playmaker in this year’s draft by far is the guy affectionately known as “MHJ”. His rare combination of god given talent and supreme NFL genetics make him the most sought after prospect we have seen in a long time.
2. Olumuyiwa Fashanu – Tackle, Penn State
HT: 6’6″ WT: 317lbs
2023 Stats: 382 Pass Blocking Snaps – 0 Sacks Allowed
Simply put, this is the best offensive line talent in the draft. Fashanu is a large man with otherworldly athleticism. If you are looking for a blindside protector, look no further than this man right here.
3. Rome Odunze – WR, Washington
HT: 6’3″ WT: 215lbs
2023 Stats: 92 Receptions – 1,640 Yards – 13 Touchdowns
There isn’t many men that can say they are unstoppable, but Rome Odunze can. His measurables are rare, and he is one of the most explosive athletes in the draft. He is a an instant plug-and-play piece at the receiver spot.
4. Caleb Williams – QB, USC
HT: 6’1″ WT: 215lbs
2023 Stats: 3,633 Yards – 30 Touchdowns – 5 Interception – 170.1 Passer Rating
Williams is the best overall prospect in the draft at quarterback right now. It will take a severe fall off or a Herculean effort to knock Williams off the throne.
5. Brock Bowers – TE, Georgia
HT: 6’4″ WT: 230lbs
2023 Stats: 56 Receptions – 714 Yards – 6 Touchdowns
Generational is the tag for this young man and for good reason. His impact is larger than the box score – he is a floor raiser at the tight end position. Passing on him would be a criminal offense if you are looking for weapon on offense.
6. Michael Penix Jr. – QB, Washington
HT: 6’3″ WT: 213lbs
2023 Stats: 4,903 Yards – 36 Touchdowns – 11 Interceptions – 157.1 Passer Rating
BEST PURE PASSER IN THE DRAFT…that is what should be put on all of Michael Penix Jr.’s gear from here on out. His physicals may deter some teams, but if you want a gamer that can make every NFL throw, he is your guy.
7. Drake Maye – QB, North Carolina
HT: 6’4″ WT: 225lbs
2023 Stats: 3,608 Yards – 36 Touchdowns – 9 Interceptions – 149.0 Passer Rating
Drake Maye is the “prototype” of the NFL quarterback position as it stands. Strong arm, deadly accuracy, and mobility make him an attractive prospect. He will be a Day 1 star at the next level and could sustain a strong career.
8. Joe Alt – Tackle, Notre Dame
HT: 6’8″ WT: 322lbs
2023 Stats: 368 Pass Blocking Snaps – 1 Sack Allowed
Joe Alt is proof that the old ways still hold validity in the new era. He is a massive man with a mean streak, and his technique is flawless. Alt is a blue-chip prospect that will anchor an offensive line for the next decade and possibly beyond.
9. Malik Nabors – WR, LSU
HT: 6’0″ WT: 200lbs
2023 Stats: 89 Receptions – 1,569 Yards – 14 Touchdowns
Nabers is as complete a receiver as any in this draft class. He has a second gear on deep routes that makes him a prime target for a team who is looking for a WR1.
10. Jared Verse – Edge, Florida State
HT: 6’4″ WT: 260lbs
2023 Stats: 41 Total Tackles – 23 Solo Tackles – 9 Sacks
Jared Verse is simply the best pass rusher in the draft. His rare violence at the point of contact, combined with elite secondary moves will have defensive coordinators salivating.
11. Jayden Daniels – QB, LSU
HT: 6’4” WT: 210lbs
2023 Stats: 3,812 Yards – 40 Touchdowns – 4 Interceptions – 208.0 Passer Rating
Daniels is the most intriguing prospect in this draft. He has all the tools of a NFL starter, but still has some quirks in his game that could require coaching to iron out. Regardless, he can be either a day one starter or sit for a year and still be an impactful player for a franchise.
12. Jackson Powers-Johnson – IOL, Oregon
HT: 6’3″ WT: 320lbs
2023 Stats: 497 Pass Blocking Snaps – 0 Sacks Allowed
Powers-Johnson was considered one of the best interior offensive lineman in the draft, but after a stellar showing at the Senior Bowl he is now cemented as THE best. He is a smart player and will thrive in any scheme or system which will only drive his value up.
13. Quinyon Mitchell – CB, Toledo
HT: 6’0″ WT: 196lbs
2023 Stats: 41 Total Tackles – 32 Solo Tackles – 1 Interception – 18 Passes Defended
It’s impossible to deny the immense talent this young man has. He is sticky in man coverage and has the awareness to play facing the action as well. He is a beneficiary of the Senior Bowl as his stock has risen to new heights after a strong showcase.
14. Tyler Nubin – Safety, Minnesota
HT: 6’2″ WT: 210lbs
2023 Stats: 53 Total Tackles – 34 Solo Tackles – 5 Interceptions – 4 Passes Defended
Tyler Nubin is a long athlete with great ball skills when playing centerfield. He has been a model of consistent play and improving year after year. He is a versatile chess piece that will be a day one pick come April.
15. Bralen Trice – Edge, Washington
HT: 6’4″ WT: 274lbs
2023 Stats: 49 Total Tackles – 30 Solo Tackles – 7 Sacks
Trice came on in the second half of the year, giving the production to validate the talent. He is a polished pass rusher that can play as a 3-4 outside linebacker or a 4-3 defensive end.
16. JJ McCarthy – QB, Michigan
HT: 6’0″ WT: 205lbs
2023 Stats: 2,991 Yards – 22 Touchdowns – 4 Interception – 167.4 Passer Rating
McCarthy won’t wow you with his statistical output, but he is one of the most talented prospects in this class. He has the intangibles of a surefire star, and the arm talent to back it. Under the right tutelage, McCarthy could be a starter for a contending franchise at the next level.
17. Dallas Turner – LB, Alabama
HT: 6’4″ WT: 242lbs
2023 Stats: 53 Total Tackles – 28 Solo Tackles – 10 Sacks – 0 Interceptions
Dallas Turner is very reminiscent of Micah Parsons in the fact that he can play off-ball linebacker or go rush the passer. That versatility can be a weapon that bodes well for him as we move further down the draft process. Turner has been an elite prospect and should continue to be viewed as such as we prepare for the combine.
18. Cooper DeJean – DB, Iowa
HT: 6’1″ WT: 207lbs
2023 Stats: 41 Total Tackles – 26 Solo Tackles – 2 Interceptions – 5 Passes Defended
The conundrum that faces many scouts about Cooper DeJean is: Is he a corner or a safety? I view him as a top tier free safety, and if NFL brass view him the same way then he will be a first round pick.
19. Blake Corum – HB, Michigan
HT: 5’8″ WT: 210lbs
2023 Stats: 1,245 Rush Yards – 4.8 YPC – 117 Receiving Yards – 28 Total Touchdowns
Corum is the single best running back prospect in this draft class. He had a phenomenal College Football Playoff run, and that could boost him into first round consideration. If he tears it up at the combine, he can stamp it that he won’t fall past 32nd.
20. Laitu Latu – DL, UCLA
HT: 6’4″ WT: 261lbs
2023 Stats: 49 Total Tackles – 13 Sacks
Latu is another beneficiary of the Senior Bowl tape. He showed elite burst off the edge and strong hands at the point of attack. He is listed as the third best edge rusher in this draft for me and he could solidify that with a strong showing at the combine.
Prospects 21-50
