Buffalo Pays The Bills – Buffalo Bills 2023 Draft Profile

The Buffalo Bills came into the 2022 season with high aspirations and even higher expectations. Though a rash of injuries and inconsistent play plagued their season, there is still an air of confidence surrounding the team. The Bills don’t need much to elevate their roster, and the NFL Draft could be used to push them forward.

Emil Ekiyor Jr., Guard, Alabama

Chase Brown, HB, Illinois

Jalen Moreno-Cropper, WR, Fresno State

The Buffalo Bills have only a few holes to fill and most of them are on the offensive side. The interior offensive line, halfback and receiver positions are all eligible for an upgrade and there are plenty of options in this draft for each.

Emil Ekiyor Jr. is a guard with a very balanced skill set. He could be an option in the late first round for the Bills. He is an outstanding pass blocker and plays with very good leverage in the run game. He has long arms as well, which could translate to being able to line up at tackle if needed.

The Bills have had a void at halfback for a couple of years. Even though they acquired Nyheim Hines last season, they need to get a viable three down starter. Chase Brown may be the best three down back in the draft and would be a welcome addition to the Buffalo backfield. Brown can function is any scheme and would allow the Bills to keep defenses honest. His pass catching is above average, and he runs with exceptional balance and power. If he isn’t the starter day one, he will definitely be the starter by mid season.

Buffalo has a good one two punch at receiver in Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. After the loss of Isaiah McKenzie, they need a third pass catcher on the perimeter to help alleviate the focus on their top two receivers.

Jalen Moreno-Cropper possesses all the skills of McKenzie but in a bigger package. He has the possibility to be a gadget player too as he has some experience as a running back and quarterback. His smooth route running and sudden burst will make him a perfect fit for Buffalo’s offense.

The Bills come into this draft with lofty goals for the 2023-24 season. With a good draft they could see those goals achieved, and success sustained for years to come.
