Braves Miss Opportunity To Sweep The Nationals

Washington D.C. – The Atlanta Braves (56-38) were unable to complete the series sweep over the Washington Nationals (31-63) in their 7-3 loss.

RHP Spencer Strider (4-3) loses his third game of the season by allowing five runs on four hits, including a home run (Victor Robles). He struck out four batters.

Dansby Swanson went 2-3 with two singles and a walk. Austin Riley extended his hitting streak to 13 going 1-3 with a single, walk and a run.

Atlanta had the bases loaded in the seventh inning but came away with no runs.

Juan Soto hit is 21st home run against Braves pitcher Tyler Matzek in the bottom of the eighth.

The Braves enter into the All-Star break after going 7-3 out of their last 10 games.
