NFL Power Rankings Week 6 – A Healthy Problem

The rigors of the NFL season catches up to teams sooner than later. Injuries are the ultimate equalizer and no team can escape the ramifications of missing players. The best teams find a way to navigate through the bad times, leaning on the depth on their roster.

How will these teams fare going weeks (possibly months) without some of their best players?

 

1. San Francisco 49ers (5-0)
The 49ers have scored at least 30 points in every one of their games this season. They’ve only allowed one of their opponents to score over 20 points.

 

2. Philadelphia Eagles (5-0)
The Eagles rank fifth in points scored and second in total yards gained. They’re averaging 164.0 rushing yards per game.

 

3. Kansas City Chiefs (4-1)
The Chiefs have scored 30 or more points only one time this season. They did it eight such games in 2022.

 

4. Miami Dolphins (4-1)
The Dolphins have the most total yards (2,568) in the first five games of any season in NFL history. They have five turnovers in the last two games and that has to change before their schedule gets tougher.

 

5. Detroit Lions (4-1)
The Lions have won three games in a row, averaging 32.0 points per game during that stretch. The defense has forced six turnovers in those three games.

 

6.  Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2)
The Jaguars have won two games in a row, outscoring their opponents 48-27. They have forced five turnovers during that stretch.

 

7. Buffalo Bills (3-2)
The Bills announced that linebacker Matt Milano and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones will be out indefinitely. The team also signed cornerback Josh Norman in light of the Tre’Davious White injury.

 

8. Dallas Cowboys (3-2)
Dallas has lost each game that they’ve failed to reach the 30-point mark. They have a total of five turnovers in their two losses and zero turnovers in their three wins.

 

9.   Baltimore Ravens (3-2)
The Ravens have lost two out of their last three games. They have six turnovers during that stretch.

 

10. Seattle Seahawks (3-1)
The Seahawks come off of their bye week to face Cincinnati on the road and then Arizona at home.

 

11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)
The Buccaneers come off of their bye week to face Detroit at home and then a divisional showdown versus Atlanta.

 

12. New Orleans Saints (3-2)
The Saints snapped a two-game losing streak by totally dismantling  the New England Patriots on Sunday. They’ve forced a total of nine turnovers this season.

 

13. Atlanta Falcons (3-2)
Desmond Ridder had his best game as a pro, throwing for 329 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a touchdown to snap the Falcons two-game losing streak.

 

14. Los Angeles Chargers (2-2)
The Chargers come off of their bye week to face the Cowboys and then a road game versus Kansas City.

 

15. Cleveland Browns (2-2)
The Browns come off of their bye week to face San Francisco on the road and then Indianapolis at home.

 

16. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)
The Steelers have won three out of their last four games. They’ve forced 10 turnovers during that stretch.

 

17. Indianapolis Colts (3-2)
Anthony Richardson will miss time with an AC joint sprain. Looks like it will be the Gardner Minshew show at quarterback for a few weeks.

 

18.  Los Angeles Rams (2-3)
The Rams have lost three out of their last four games. They’ve given up a total of 95 points during that stretch.

 

19. Green Bay Packers (2-3)
The Packers have lost two in a row, turning the ball over five times during that stretch. They’ve been outscored 51-33 during the losing streak.

 

20. New York Jets (2-3)
The Jets have now forced nine turnovers on defense and they’ve only allowed one rushing touchdown this season.

 

21. Houston Texans (2-3)
The Texans snapped a two-game winning streak, scoring their second lowest-point total of the season. They have at least taken care of the ball with only two turnovers this season.

 

22. Tennessee Titans (2-3)
Derrick Henry is averaging 65.6 rushing yards per game and 3.8 yards per carry. The Titans are ranked 18th in rushing and 14th in rushing touchdowns.

 

23. Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)
The Bengals had their best game of the season on Sunday versus Arizona. They rank 27th in points scored and 31st in total yards gained, but the offense is improving.

 

24. Washington Commanders (2-3)
The Commanders have given up 74 points and 866 total yards in the last two weeks. They’re now ranked 31st in total points allowed and 25th in total yards allowed.

 

25. Las Vegas Raiders (2-3)
The Raiders snapped a three-game losing streak on Monday night. They have however continued their turnovers streak to five games.

 

26. Minnesota Vikings (1-4)
The Vikings placed wide receiver Justin Jefferson on the injured reserved list and he’s expected to miss at least four games. Another blow to an otherwise dreadful season.

 

27.   Chicago Bears (1-4)
Justin Fields in his last two games has thrown for 617 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception. After losing to Denver last week, he helped the Bears snap a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season.

 

28. Arizona Cardinals (1-4)
The Cardinals have been outscored 69-36 in their last two games, both have resulted in losses. They had their worst offensive output on Sunday since week one.

 

29. New England Patriots (1-4)
The Patriots have been outscored 72-3 in their last two games. It’s going from bad to worst in New England.

 

30. Denver Broncos (1-4)
The relationship between Sean Payton and Russell Wilson is deteriorating fast. The Broncos don’t have many options to make a change, considering both of their contracts.

 

31. New York Giants (1-4)
The Giants gave up seven more sacks on Sunday, which brings their season total to 30. The offense is averaging 12.4 points per game.

 

32. Carolina Panthers (0-5)
Opponents are averaging 28.8 points per game against the Panthers. They’ve allowed nine rushing touchdowns and seven passing touchdowns on defense this season.
