The Direction Of Progression – NFL Power Rankings Week 12

Ab Stanley

The finest wins and losses can be found in the NFL. These amazing accomplishments and devastating defeats are what shape NFL seasons and will shape them for years to come. The fans being so invested in the outcome of games is what drives this league and whether their team gets to right destination is irrelevant.

1. Los Angeles Rams (8-2)
The Rams win streak is now at five games and they’ve won in every way possible. Right now they’d be the number two seed in the playoffs, but I suspect they’re first on the list of teams nobody wants to face.

2. Denver Broncos (9-2)
Denver won another close game on Sunday. They’ve won each of their last three games by a margin of three points.

3. New England Patriots (9-2)
The Patriots haven’t lost a game since week three. They don’t have a bye until week 14.

4. Philadelphia Eagles (8-2)
The Eagles don’t turn the ball over and they force turnovers. They’ve allowed a total of 16 points in two games since they’ve had their bye week.

5. Indianapolis Colts (8-2)
The biggest test of the season comes this Sunday against Kansas City. If they can knock out the Chiefs, it could end Kansas City’s season early.

6. Seattle Seahawks (7-3)
The Seahawks lost a tight one to Los Angeles, but that was mostly due to four turnovers. The Seahawks have the most turnovers in the league.

7. s Los Angeles Chargers (7-4)
The Chargers snapped a three game win streak with their loss to Jacksonville. They’ll head into their bye week in second place in the AFC West.

8. Buffalo Bills (7-3)
The difference in a week is crazy. Last week, Buffalo looked like they could miss the playoffs. Now it looks like they’re right back in the hunt for a division title.

9. San Francisco 49ers (7-4)
The 49ers’ win/loss whirlwind continues. They’ve traded wins and losses every week since week three.

10. Chicago Bears (7-3)
If the playoffs started today Chicago would be the third seed in the NFC and they’d host a playoff game.

11. Detroit Lions (6-4)
Detroit finished with their lowest point total since week seven of the 2023 season. They’ve lost two out of their last three games.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4)
Tampa Bay has lost two games in a row and Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams isn’t necessarily a get right scenario.

13. Baltimore Ravens (5-5)
Baltimore has won four games in a row and they now sit a game out of first place. Here they come.

14. Green Bay Packers (6-3-1)
The Packers got back to their winning ways with a touchdown win over the New York Giants. They’re allowing an average of 15.3 points per game in their last three.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)
Aaron Rodgers has injured his non-throwing band, but still wants to play. The division lead is slipping away and it might be a better idea to keep him on the field by any means necessary.

16. Kansas City Chiefs (5-5)
The Chiefs lack of star power shows in a lot of the games they’ve played this season. They’re in serious danger of not making the playoffs.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4)
Jacksonville busted out for their highest point total of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers. It marks the third time season they’ve scored 30 or more points.

18. Carolina Panthers (6-5)
The fact that Carolina has a winning record is stunning. The fact that Carolina is a half a game out of first place is downright shocking.

19. Houston Texans (5-5)
Houston’s defense is currently ranked number one in both total points allowed and total yards allowed. They’ve won two in a row.

20. Dallas Cowboys (4-5-1)
New addition to the team Quinnen Williams looked dominant in his debut for Dallas. He finished with 1.5 sacks a four total tackles.

21. Minnesota Viking (4-6)
That Minnesota defense has allowed an average of 23.0 points per game and haven’t forced a turnover in their last two games.

22. Miami Dolphins (4-7)
The Dolphins have won two games in a row and they still looks like a team headed for a top ten draft pick.

23. Atlanta Falcons (3-7)
Michael Penix needs surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. Drake London is hurt and won’t play for a couple of weeks (at least). All I have to tell Falcons fans is the Atlanta Hawks are pretty good this year.

24. Washington Commanders (3-8)
It’s been all worst case scenario for Washington this season, but it could turn out to help them out in the future. A high draft pick to go along with a returning superstar quarterback could be formula for success.

25. Cincinnati Bengals (3-7)
I found it hilarious that Ja’Marr Chase really spit on Jalen Ramsey and straight lied to reporters about it.

26.  Arizona Cardinals (3-7)
So much for a supposed quarterback controversy in Arizona. It actually turns out that the team isn’t very good overall. Michael Wilson and Trey McBride might be a couple of exceptions.

27. Cleveland Browns (2-8)
Shedeur Sanders will make his first start for the Cleveland Browns this weekend. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski sounds less than enthusiastic about this development.

28. New York Giants (2-9)
Cam Skattebo is getting flak for his appearance on WWE Monday Night RAW. I however would give him flak for his performance on said show.

29. New York Jets (2-8)
The Jets are starting Tyrod Taylor this weekend instead of Justin Fields. Unfortunately for them, quarterback isn’t their only problem.

30. Las Vegas Raiders (2-8)
The Raiders have lost four in a row and they’re struggling to score. They currently rank 30th in total points scored and 30th in total yards gains.

31. New Orleans Saints (2-8)
New Orleans come off their bye week to play division rivals Atlanta and then fly to Miami to face the Dolphins.

32. Tennessee Titans (1-9)
The Titans offense has mustered up 13 points in their latest installment of “struggling offense weekly”.
