Repeat Loading… – Kansas City Chiefs 2023 Draft Profile

Super. Bowl. Champions. That was the tagline for the Chiefs this past season and their draft picks were a large part of their championship season. This year will be no different as they have some holes to fill on an already strong roster.

Jaelyn Duncan, Tackle, Maryland

Byron Young, Edge, Tennessee

Dallas Daniels, WR, Jackson State

The Chiefs have done extremely well in the draft over the years, and this year should be no different. They have a couple of holes that need patching but can freely navigate the board to seek out the best value.

The Chiefs lost their blindside protector Orlando Brown Jr. and will need to replace him. Jaelyn Duncan fits what K.C. likes to do offensively and would be a great value pick at the end of the first round. Duncan has a long strong frame with smooth hands and feet. He is a very good run blocker and excels at pass blocking. He is good enough to be a plug and play tackle at the next level and would fill a need for the Chiefs.

Production is the name of the game for Kansas City. Their pass rush has been getting better and better over the years and adding another body could elevate it to greatness. Byron Young out of Tennessee has been a productive pass rusher at the highest level of college football. His 16 sacks and 39 pressures show just how gifted he is. He gets better as the game goes on, and due to his motor seems to beat blockers into submission. Pairing him with George Karlaftis would give the Chiefs a formidable, young pass rush duo.

After losing JuJu Smith-Schuster in the offseason, Kansas City will need to get a good budget option in the late rounds. Dallas Daniels is a great option out of SWAC school Jackson State. He possesses the size and speed to be productive in the NFL and is well coached. Daniels is more than willing to block, even away from the play and is fearless over the middle. Daniels could come in and be a productive member of a young receiver room.

Popular opinion is that the Kansas City Chiefs will hoist another Lombardi Trophy in 2023-24. This draft gives the Chiefs a chance to find the next championship contributor as they load up for a repeat.
