On Monday morning, the Charlotte Hornets and their second-round pick Vernon Carey Jr. has agreed to a four-year contract. Carey’s contract is expected to have the most guaranteed money among second-round picks in the 2020 NBA Draft Class.
Carey Jr. who was drafted with the 32nd overall pick in the draft, averaged 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game during his one season at Duke. Those numbers allowed Carey Jr. to be named the ACC Freshman of the Year and was selected to the All-ACC first team and the All-ACC freshman team.
The Hornets will be opening training camp on December 1st and they will play their first preseason game on December 12th at home against the Toronto Raptors.
