The Cleveland Browns have traded for New York Giants defensive end/outside linebacker, Olivier Vernon.
As compensation for the Giants, they will send guard Kevin Zeitler and will exchange draft picks. Cleveland will receive the Giants’ pick 4th-round and Giants will get the Browns’ 5th-round pick.
Vernon, 28, has played 85 games recording 51 sacks and 319 tackles. Selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round in the 2012 NFL Draft (2012-2015), he signed with the Giants in 2016 and was voted as a reserve to the 2019 Pro Bowl.
Zeitler, 29, signed a five-year contract in 2017 and spent two seasons with the Browns while never missing a snap.
With over $80 million in cap space, Cleveland looks to be active during free agency.
Trade first reported by Ian Rapoport.
