The Atlanta Falcons are signing cornerback A.J. Terrell to a four-year $81 million contract extension. He will also receive $65.8 million guaranteed.
Terrell, who is entering his fifth year in the league, has been very confident that the deal would get done.
Falcons general manager, Terry Fontenot, has been busy within the last week trying to sure up the defense.. Fontenot traded for defensive end Matthew Judon and signed All-Pro safety Justin Simmons.
The 25-year old cornerback had his lowest amount of tackles last year, including no in interceptions, but head coach Raheem Morris believes that will change within the new defensive scheme this year.
The Falcons secondary will now feature Terrell, cornerback Mike Hughes, Pro Bowl safety Jessie Bates III and Simmons.
