Decisions, decisions, decisions: it’s the many decisions that carve out an NFL season. The wrong decisions can put you in a bad situation almost every time they occur. It’s the next decision that could decide whether or not you can dig yourself out.
If you look across the league, a lot of good decisions at the beginning of the season are now starting to look bad.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1)
Are they the most talented team in the league? The answer is definitely “no”, but they are the team that’s playing the best.
2. Indianapolis Colts (5-1)
The Colts are now ranked number one in total points scored and third in total yards from scrimmage. The defense is ranked fourth in total points allowed and fifth in forced turnovers.
3. Detroit Lions (4-2)
A punch in the mouth shouldn’t always equal a knockout. Getting punched in the mouth by the neighborhood bully just hits different.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (4-2)
Did New York have the ultimate game plan against the Eagles or is Philadelphia in some sort of trouble?
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1)
The Steelers’ defense has gotten much better as the season rolls along. They’ve given up an average of 15.0 points and 67.5 rushing yards in their last two games.
6. Buffalo Bills (4-2)
Buffalo has looked very pedestrian on offense during their two game losing streak. They’ve scored 30 or more points in each their first four games, but they’ve only scored 34 combined points in the past two weeks.
7. Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)
The Chargers are undefeated when they score 20 or more points. They’ve forced six total turnovers in their four wins.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)
Jacksonville had their three game winning streak snapped by not putting up much of a fight against Seattle. They had their lowest point total since week 11 of last season.
9. San Francisco 49ers (4-2)
Fred Warner is out for the season with a terrible ankle injury and the list of injured 49ers continues to grow. It will be hard for them to navigate the rest of the season with the rising amount of injuries.
10. Los Angeles Rams (4-2)
The beat down of Baltimore is a prime example of a contending team defeating teams they’re supposed to beat.
11. Seattle Seahawks (4-2)
Seattle has held five of their opponents to 20 or less points this season and they rank sixth in total points allowed.
12. Denver Broncos (4-2)
The Broncos have won three games in a row, allowing a total of 31 points. They rank second in both total points allowed and and total yards allowed.
13. New England Patriots (4-2)
Could there be a changing of the guard in the AFC East? The Patriots will compete for a division title barring any type of major collapse.
14. Washington Commanders (3-3)
Washington has spent the entire season trading wins and losses. They can’t seen to string wins together consistently.
15. Kansas City Chiefs (3-3)
For those of you who thinks Kansas City is “back” after beating the Lions I have one question? When did they ever leave?
16. Green Bay Packers (3-1-1)
Green Bay snapped a two game winless streak by pulling away from Cincinnati on Sunday. They’ll play another team playing a new starting quarterback this week in Arizona.
17. Chicago Bears (3-2)
The Bears have won three in a row and it looks like they’re starting to hit their stride. They’ll host a struggling New Orleans team this week.
18. Atlanta Falcons (3-2)
Bijan Robinson recorded 238 yards from scrimmage and the Falcons ran for 210 yards against Buffalo. That’s now two wins in a row for Atlanta.
19. Minnesota Vikings (3-2)
Coming off of their bye week, the Vikings will host Philadelphia and then head to Los Angeles to play the Chargers.
20. Dallas Cowboys (2-3-1)
Dallas has gone winless in three out of their last four. They are undefeated when they score 30 or more points.
21. Houston Texans (2-3)
The Texans head to Seattle coming off of their bye week. They’ll play three games in a row at home after that.
22. Carolina Panthers (3-3)
The Panthers have won two games in a row and three out of their last four. They’re averaging 32.3 points per game in their three victories.
23. New York Giants (2-4)
The Giants have a weird statistical line going after six games. They’ve scored seven rushing and seven passing touchdowns on offense. They’ve also allowed seven touchdowns both through the air and on the ground on defense.
24. Arizona Cardinals (2-4)
The rumblings out of Arizona is Jacoby Brissett looked like a much better quarterback for the Cardinals. The fans are certainly ready for a change.
25. Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)
Joe Flacco went to Cincinnati to help them do the same exact thing they’ve been doing before Joe Flacco got there.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (2-4)
The Raiders snapped a four game losing streak. They could be in line for another four game losing streak, looking at their upcoming schedule.
27. Baltimore Ravens (1-5)
Baltimore is headed to their bye week, but it’s already getting bad down there. It’s getting so bad that John Harbaugh’s job is starting to come into question.
28. Cleveland Browns (1-5)
Really doesn’t matter who starts at quarterback for the Browns, the results don’t look to be improving.
29. Tennessee Titans (1-5)
Bill Callahan went a total of 4-19 in his tenure as the Titans head coach, before getting canned on Monday. I’m not really sure how this helps Tennessee, who are still devoid of talent.
30. New Orleans Saints (1-5)
The Saints average 18.5 points per game. They allow 26.6 points per game. It’s really not hard to see why they have a losing record.
31. Miami Dolphins (1-5)
The Dolphins are talented (on offense anyway), but very dysfunctional as a team. The quarterback revealing that players don’t even show up to players only meetings kind of shows a lack of leadership.
32. New York Jets (0-6)
Nothing has actually worked for the Jets this year. What’s worse is they’re heading for a number one overall draft pick in a draft where there isn’t a clear cut number one pick.
