About That Action – Baltimore Ravens 2023 Draft Profile

Baltimore is between a rock and a hard place this off-season. Lamar Jackson wants top quarterback money and at this point it doesn’t look like a deal will get done by the start of the season. The Odell Beckham Jr. signing seemed like a desperate attempt to buy time, but the draft could provide the Ravens with a chance to salvage a rocky relationship.

Jordan Addison, WR, USC

Jakorian Bennett, CB, Maryland

Jaxson Kirkland, OL, Washington

The biggest knock on the Ravens roster has been their lack of weapons on the perimeter. If they want to see what they truly have in Jackson they will need to have more than OBJ, Devin Duvernay and Mark Andrews. Adding a receiver like Jordan Addison would bolster the receiver room and give them a player that can become an eventual number one target. Addison is a resourceful receiver with crafty route running ability and solid hands. Having him in addition to Duvernay, Beckham and Rashod Bateman would make the Ravens’ offense far more potent.

Baltimore needs to replace the void left by Ben Powers this off-season. Jaxson Kirkland is a player who fills a need and has positional versatility. Kirkland has played both tackle and guard, with success at both spots. He could come in as a plug-and-play starter and if needed kick outside.

Baltimore has no cemented starter on the other side of Marlon Humphrey. The young corners were wildly inconsistent last season for the Ravens and they need to find a mainstay at the corner position. They could dip into the Maryland well here and knab Jakorian Bennett on Day 2. Bennett is a solid corner with thunder behind his pads. He has good size and reliable hands to pair with above average ball skills. If consistency is what the Ravens need, Bennett provides that.

The Ravens need to shore up this roster to make retaining Lamar Jackson easier. As of right now the olive branch has been extended but who knows what the season may hold? If they ace this draft, then their outlook could improve and the odds may be in their favor.
