NFL Power Rankings Week 13 – Break Through

The competition in the NFL has been fierce as of late and teams are starting to impose their will both offensively and defensively. Wins and losses have a heavier impact, while injuries at this point of the season could be catastrophic.

These final weeks should all feel like playoff games and I suspect every team eligible will approach them as such.

 

1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-2)
The Chiefs have pushed their win streak to five games. They’ll play two games against winning opponents in their last six games.

 

2. Philadelphia Eagles (10-1)
Philadelphia has scored a total of 58 points in the two games since their first loss of the season. The Eagles rank third in total points scored.

 

3. Miami Dolphins (8-3)
Tua Tagovailoa has thrown 19 touchdown passes and only three interceptions so far this season. He’s averaging 284.9 passing yards per game and 12.9 yards per completion.

 

4. Buffalo Bills (8-3)
Buffalo has won two games in a row, scoring a total of 59 points. They’ve scored a total of 309 points this season.

 

5. Dallas Cowboys (8-3)
The Cowboys next three games are versus teams with awful records. Their final three games are versus teams with winning records.

 

6. Minnesota Vikings (9-2)
Justin Jefferson has 81 catches for 1,232 yards and five touchdowns so far this season. Is he the offensive player of the year?

 

7. San Francisco 49ers (7-4)
The 49ers are now ranked first in both total points allowed and total yards allowed.

 

8. Cincinnati Bengals (7-4)
Cincinnati has won three in a row, scoring a total of 99 points during that stretch. They’ve done it recently without two of their best offensive weapons in Joe Mixon and Ja’Marr Chase.

 

9. Tennessee Titans (7-4)
Tennessee had their two game winning streak snapped, but it wasn’t a case of Cincinnati kicking their butts. They’ll have a much tougher test against Philadelphia this week.

 

10. Baltimore Ravens ((7-4)
Baltimore’s being ranked 11th in total points scored and 11th in total yards gained is confusing. You can clearly see something wrong with their offense.

 

11. New York Giants (7-4)
New York finally lost a game where they scored at least 20 points. They’ve now slipped to a middle of the pack team as far as points allowed are concerned.

 

12. New York Jets (7-4)
The Jets are fourth in total points allowed and fifth in total yards allowed. They are undefeated when they score 20 or more points.

 

13. Washington Commanders (7-5)
The Washington heat wave continues as they’ve now reeled off six wins in seven games. They’ve allowed a total of 23 points in their last two games.

 

14. Seattle Seahawks (6-5)
Seattle has lost two in a row, getting outscored by a total of 61-50. They are ranked fourth in total points scored and 28th in total points allowed.

 

15. Los Angeles Chargers (6-5)
The Chargers snapped a two game losing streak versus Arizona and they’ll get a much easier match up in Las Vegas this week.

 

16. New England Patriots (6-5)
The Patriots gave up more points to Minnesota than they did in the previous three weeks combined. They play Buffalo’s high powered offense next.

 

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-6)
The Buccaneers offense continues to struggle. They’ve now played six games where they’ve failed to score 20 points.

 

18. Atlanta Falcon (5-7)
The Falcons have turned the ball over in five straight games. They’ve lost three out of their last four games.

 

19. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-7)
The Steelers have won two out of their last three games. They have a manageable upcoming schedule, but they currently have a 1% chance to make the playoffs.

 

20. Arizona Cardinals (4-8)
Arizona heads into their bye week on a two game losing streak. They are 31st in total points scored.

 

21. Detroit Lions (4-7)
Detroit is ranked eighth in total points scored and total yards gained. They rank 32nd in total points allowed and total yards allowed.

 

22. New Orleans Saints (4-8)
The Saints got shut out on Sunday and it marked the third time they’ve scored 10 or less points this season. They are 20th in total points scored.

 

23. Green Bay Packers (4-8)
Aaron Rodgers has not thrown 10 or more interceptions since the 2010 season. He’s sitting on nine right now, but his season could be done.

 

24. Carolina Panthers (4-8)
Sam Darnold led the Panthers to victory by throwing for 164 yards and a touchdown. Carolina will definitely be looking to draft a quarterback in the offseason.

 

25. Cleveland Browns (4-7)
Deshaun Watson will make his first start of the season (ironically) against his former team the Houston Texans. The Browns currently have a 2% chance of making the playoffs.

 

26. Indianapolis Colts (4-7-1)
Jeff Saturday might be in over his head as a NFL head coach. Matt Ryan looks physically done as an NFL quarterback. I can’t see that as a winning formula.

 

27. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7)
Jacksonville has forced six turnovers in their last three games. They are 2-1 during that stretch.

 

28. Las Vegas Raiders (4-7)
Las Vegas has won two games in a row, both in overtime. They are 2-1 in overtime games this season.

 

29. Los Angeles Rams (3-8)
The Rams have lost five games in a row with a good Seattle team coming up. They currently have a 2% chance of making the playoffs.

 

30. Denver Broncos (3-8)
Russell Wilson got outplayed by Sam Darnold on Sunday. That tells you all you need to know about the kind of performance Wilson has been having this season.

 

31. Chicago Bears (3-9)
The Bears have given up 30 or more points in four out of their last five games. They rank 27th in total points allowed.

 

32. Houston Texans (1-9-1)
The Texans’ defense has actually been good at limiting their opponents passing touchdowns. They aren’t really good at anything else.
