Braves Lose Off A Walk-Off In Extra Innings

Washington, DC – The Atlanta Braves (97-59) gives up a walk-off single to rookie C.J. Abrams in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Washington Nationals (54-101) a 3-2 win.

Abrams, from Alpharetta, Georgia, hit a single to right to drive in the winning run.

Pitcher Jake Odorizzi got the start for the Braves and gave up one earned run off four hits and three walks in 3.2 innings. The Braves pitching staff didn’t give up a hit after the fourth inning until the walk-off hit.

Matt Olson went 2-3, including a solo home run in the second inning and a walk. Eddie Rosario also got two hits.

The Braves only had six hits in the game as a team.

After tonight’s loss, the Braves are a 0.5 game behind the New York Mets for the division lead.

The Braves have a day off before they return to Atlanta to face the Mets in a three-game series.
