CLEVELAND — In a snowy tundra, the Tennessee Titans closed out a 31–29 road win against the Cleveland Browns.
Overview
The Titans opened the game with momentum that continued to build throughout the first half. They immediately jumped out to a seven-point lead behind an eight-play, 53-yard drive capped off by a 14-yard Elic Ayomanor receiving touchdown.
Cleveland answered with a field goal but Tennessee kept the pressure on, getting an explosive play from running back Tony Pollard, who had a career day. Pollard’s 63-yard touchdown run was just one of two he recorded on his way to a 161-yard performance.
Adversity struck for the Titans, however, as Cleveland fought back to take the lead in the second quarter behind their stiff defense. Shedeur Sanders played very well and led the Browns valiantly.
His two passing touchdowns in the first half gave Cleveland a 17–14 lead and the momentum-swing heading into halftime.
Defensively, the Titans were able to impose their will for most of the second half, holding the Browns scoreless in the third quarter.
Cleveland was forced to lean on Sanders’ arm due to Tennessee’s ability to stop the run and he delivered late in the game.
The Browns made a push in the fourth quarter behind two scoring drives from Sanders but it wasn’t enough. Tennessee held on to secure their second win of the year.
