- Answers That Need To Be Questioned – NFL Power Rankings Week 7 - October 15, 2025
I could come in here every week and talk about the NFL having this weird season and how ridiculously different certain teams look from week to week. The truth is every few seasons there is a major flip to the script and some of the lowly teams rise up to the top, leaving some of the better teams to wonder what happened. Let’s forget all the talk about weird seasons and crazy finishes and far fetched storylines.
This has definitely happened before, not to the level of deja vu, but definitely a touch of history repeating itself.
1.
Indianapolis Colts (7-1)
Number one and it’s starting not to be close. These Colts have the swagger of a team led by the great Peyton Manning, but surprisingly it’s Daniel Jones
2.
Detroit Lions (5-2)
The next three games for Detroit will be a mixed bag of treats. They’ll start at home with the incomplete Minnesota Vikings. Then they’ll travel to wounded duck Washington and then the champion Philadelphia Eagles.
3.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2)
Tampa Bay is 4-2 against NFC opponents and 2-0 against NFC East opponents. They’ve won both of their meetings against AFC opponents.
4.
Philadelphia Eagles (6-2)
The Eagles head into their bye week on a two game winning streak. They’ve outscored their opponents 66-42 during that stretch.
5.
New England Patriots (6-2)
The Patriots are a complete team with real Super Bowl aspirations. It didn’t take long for the franchise to get back near the top.
6.
Los Angeles Rams (5-2)
The Rams come off of their bye week to face New Orleans at home and then a divisional showdown with San Francisco on the road.
7.
Kansas City Chiefs (5-3)
The Chiefs have now morphed back into a scary looking team, ready to win another Super Bowl.
8.
Denver Broncos (6-2)
The Broncos have pushed their winning streak to five games behind the stellar play of Bo Nix. He threw four touchdown passes against the Cowboys on Sunday and has 10 total touchdown passes during this stretch of games.
9.
Buffalo Bills (5-2)
Buffalo snapped their two game losing streak with (yup you guessed it) another game scoring 30 points or more. Their 40 point outburst against the Panthers is their second game of the season with 40 or more points.
10.
Green Bay Packers (5-1-1)
The Packers win streak has reached three games and their upcoming schedule is favorable. Three out of their next four opponents are currently at or under .500.
11.
Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
The Seahawks will head to Washington to face the Commanders and then they’ll host the Arizona Cardinals.
12.
San Francisco 49ers (5-3)
The 49ers’ injuries are starting to catch up with them. They don’t have a bye until week 14 and they severely need some of their better players back.
13.
Los Angeles Chargers (5-3)
The Chargers rushed for 207 yards against Minnesota and Justin Herbert racked up 62 of those yards. Herbert has rushed for 248 yards this season, which is third most on the team.
14.
Pittsburgh Steelers ((4-3)
Pittsburgh has lost two games in a row that they probably should’ve won. The losing streak hasn’t really killed their position of first place in the division.
15.
Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)
It was the perfect time for a bye week for Jacksonville. They’ll go on the road the next two weeks to face teams that combine for a record of 5-9.
16.
Chicago Bears (4-3)
The Bears had their four game winning streak snapped with a less than stellar offensive performance. The 16 points they scored against Baltimore was their lowest point total of the season.
17.
Carolina Panthers (4-4)
Carolina is the only team in the NFL currently sporting a .500 record. It doesn’t really mean anything, but I found that interesting.
18.
Atlanta Falcons (3-4)
The Falcons have lost two in a row and they’ve been outscored a total of 54-20 during the streak. They also have major issues at quarterback and wide receiver positions.
19.
Minnesota Viking (3-4)
The Vikings have lost two games in a row and they’ve been outscored 65-32. The offense has a turnover problem as well, giving the ball away in six of their seven games this season.
20.
Washington Commanders (3-5)
When you watch Marcus Mariota play, you probably start to wonder when will Jayden Daniels return from injury. Word out of Washington is it will be Sunday night barring any setbacks.
21.
Cincinnati Bengals (3-5)
Cincinnati squandered a chance to not only keep some good momentum going, but they missed out on a chance to the tie for division lead.
22.
Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1)
The Cowboys rank second in both total points scored and total yards from scrimmage. They also rank 31st in total points allowed and total yards allowed. Second place and then second to last place.
23.
Houston Texans (3-4)
C.J. Stroud threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns for his best game of the season. The Texans have won three out of their last four games.
24.
New York Giants (2-6)
Cam Scattabo’s injury will probably kill all the momentum the Giants have built offensively. Jaxson Dart will start to struggle if the Giants continue to lose skill position guys.
25.
Cleveland Browns (2-6)
The Browns are ranked third in total yards allowed, but 17th in total points allowed. They’ve allowed 30 or more points in three of their games this season.
26.
Arizona Cardinals (2-5)
Arizona is the perfect example of everything is going to even itself out. After the first two weeks you thought there was something there. Then reality sets in and they’ve lost five in a row.
27.
Las Vegas Raiders (2-5)
The Raiders come off of their bye week to face Jacksonville at home and then Denver on the road.
28.
Baltimore Ravens (2-5)
Lamar Jackson is back this week for the Ravens. Now I know their record wasn’t exactly stellar with him under center this season, but there’s no way to right the ship without your starting quarterback.
29.
Miami Dolphins (2-6)
The Dolphins really looked in sync on offense and the defense actually showed up and executed the game plan to perfection. Now if they could just duplicate this performance.
30.
New York Jets (1-7)
The Jets epic comeback and first win of the season might help Aaron Glenn keep his job after all.
31.
New Orleans Saints (1-7)
Spencer Rattler is getting benched for rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. At this point, I can’t tell if this a punishment for Rattler or Shough.
32.
Tennessee Titans (1-7)
Mike McCoy will have a hard time explaining why the Titans are ranked 32nd in both total points scored and total yards from scrimmage.
