The Numbers Game – NFL Power Rankings Week 15

They say numbers never lie, but do they really tell you the truth? Games can be broken down to statistics only, but there are so many more factors that go into the outcome of an NFL game: ultimately the numbers that matters the most are wins and losses.

 

1. Los Angeles Rams (10-3)
Matthew Stafford has thrown 36 touchdowns and only four interceptions this season. He should be the front runner for league MVP.

2. New England Patriots (11-2)
After the Patriots’ big time division game against Buffalo this week, they’ll play three teams that currently have a losing record

3. Denver Broncos (11-2)
Denver has won 10 games in a row, but their last four games will be tough. They play three teams vying for a division title and the other game will be against a desperate Kansas City team

4. Seattle Seahawks (10-3)
Seattle has pushed their current win streak to three games. They allowing an average of 11.0 points per game during that stretch.

5. San Francisco 49ers (9-4)
Christian McCaffrey has rushed for over 800 yards and he has over 800 yards receiving. He has 13 total touchdowns so far this season.

6. s Los Angeles Chargers (9-4)
Justin Herbert has rushed for more yards this season than any other season in his career. He’s averaging 32.2 rushing yards per game.

7. Green Bay Packers (9-3-1)
Micah Parsons has 12.5 sacks and 26 quarterback hits so far this season. Green Bay is ranked sixth in total points allowed and fifth in total yards allowed.

8. Chicago Bears (9-4)
With one loss, the Bears went from the top seed in the conference down to the seventh seed. Somebody with a good record will not make the playoffs in the NFC and Chicago doesn’t want to be the odd team out.

9. Buffalo Bills (9-4)
James Cook has 249 carries for 1,308 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s averaging 100.6 rushing yards per game and 5.3 yards per carry,

10. Jacksonville Jaguars (9-4)
The Jaguars have forced 23 turnovers this season which ranks second in the NFL. They have forced a total of six turnovers during their current four game winning streak.

11. Detroit Lions (8-5)
Jahmyr Gibbs has 1,536 yards from scrimmage with 16 total touchdowns. The Lions rank fifth in rushing yards and third in total yards from scrimmage.

12. Houston Texans (8-5)
The Texans have racked up nine turnovers during their current five game winning streak. They have forced 22 total turnovers this season.

13. Philadelphia Eagles (8-5)
Jalen Hurts has thrown for 2,754 yards and he’s rushed for 337 yards this season. He has scored 27 total touchdowns.

14. Indianapolis Colts (8-5)
Philip Rivers’ last played in the NFL during the 2020 season where he threw for over 4,000 yards. The Colts just signed Rivers to their practice squad with hopes of starting him in the near future.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6)
Pittsburgh has not figured out their rushing attack since Le’Veon Bell left some time ago. They rank 27th in rushing yards this season.

16. Dallas Cowboys (6-6-1)
Dak Prescott has thrown for 3,637 yards with 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He currently leads the NFL in passing attempts, yards and completions.

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-6)
Rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has 54 catches for 806 yards and six touchdowns. He leads the Buccaneers in all three categories.

18. Carolina Panthers (7-6)
Rico Dowdle has rushed for 929 yards and five touchdowns so far this season. He has 1,183 yards from scrimmage overall and six total touchdowns.

19. Miami Dolphins (6-7)
The Dolphins have won four games in a row and they’re averaging 192.2 rushing yards per game during that stretch. They have put themselves in position to make a run at the playoffs.

20. Baltimore Ravens (6-7)
Baltimore has now lost two games in a row after making a hard playoff push. They’ve allowed 59 points during that stretch.

21. Kansas City Chiefs (6-7)
Patrick Mahomes has rushed for 407 yards this season. He has already eclipsed his career high season in rushing (307 yards) with four games left to play.

22. Minnesota Viking (5-8)
J.J. McCarthy is averaging 156.0 passing yards per game. He has nine touchdowns and ten interceptions and he’s somehow been the Vikings’ best quarterback this season.

23. Cincinnati Bengals (4-9)
No lead is safe for a Bengals’ offense that has scored 33 touchdowns this season. The Bengals’ defense ranks 32nd in both total points allowed and total yards allowed.

24. Atlanta Falcons (4-9)
Bijan Robinson has rushed for 1,081 yards and five touchdowns. He has 1,683 total yards from scrimmage which currently leads the NFL.

25. Washington Commanders (3-10)
The Commanders have 10 interceptions and eight lost fumbles this season. Their turnover differential is -11 this season.

26. New York Jets (3-10)
The Jets are the only team that has failed to reach 2,000 passing yards on the season. They rank 29th in total yards from scrimmage.

27. Arizona Cardinals (3-10)
The Cardinals have lost five games in a row and it’s the second time this year they’ve lost five in a row. They rank 26th in total points allowed.

28. Cleveland Browns (3-10)
Myles Garrett now has 20 sacks with four games left to play. He needs three sacks to set the record for sacks in a single season.

29. New Orleans Saints (3-10
The Saints are 2-1 when they score 20 points or more. They’ve outscored their opponents 67-41 in those games.

30. New York Giants (2-11)
The Giants have allowed 367 points so far this season, which ranks 30th in the NFL. They rank 31st in total yards allowed.

31. Tennessee Titans (2-11)
The Titans are the only team in the NFL that has failed to reach double digits in both passing and rushing touchdowns. They have 16 offensive touchdowns in total.

32. Las Vegas Raiders (2-11)
Ashton Jeanty has struggled in his rookie season. He’s averaging 51.2 rushing yards per game and 3.5 yards per carry.
