Atlanta, Ga – The Atlanta Falcons have fired both head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot.
Owner Arthur Blank felt it was time to move in a new direction.
“I have great personal affinity for both Raheem and Terry and appreciate their hard work and dedication, but I believe we need new leadership in these roles moving forward,” stated Blank.
Raheem Morris just finished his second season, which both ended in 8-9 records. Though some of the leaders like Jessie Bates III and Bijan Robinson spoke highly of Morris after their 19-17 win over the New Orleans Saints, Falcons management decided to release the head coach.
Fontenot, the Falcons GM since 2021, never finished with a winning season during his tenure in Atlanta.
Most notably known for his Kyle Pitts Sr. draft pick, also was responsible for this year’s Falcons’ rookie class, which all were very productive, including moving up for edge rusher James Pearce Jr. who had 10.5 sacks this year and safety Xavier Watts led all NFL rookies with five interceptions.
The Falcons will be searching for their replacements immediately with the help of the ZRG partners.
