Nickeas To Play With The Kansas Stars At NBC World Series

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech baseball assistant coach and former Yellow Jacket standout behind the plate Mike Nickeas will return to the diamond as a player this week at the 2017 NBC World Series from Saturday, July 29, to Sunday, August 6, in Wichita, Kansas.

Nickeas, who spent last week as an assistant coach for the Stripes team at the 2017 17U National Team Development Program for USA Baseball, will dust off the catcher’s mitt and cleats one more time this week to suit up for the Kansas Star.

The team, which was organized by former MLB players Adam LaRoche and Nate Robertson, is comprised up of approximately 30 former major league baseball players and celebrities.

All proceeds of the event will go straight to the E3 Foundation which was created by the LaRoche family in support of wounded veterans and also fight against human trafficking and slavery.

The team will play three guaranteed games on July 29, 31 and August 2 in the NBC World Series with three potential bracketed games on August 4, 5 and 6.
