The New York Yankees have completed a deal sending pitchers Zack Littell and Dietrich Enns to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for pitcher Jaime Garcia and cash considerations.
Garcia has already been traded this season landing in Minnesota from an earlier transaction with the Atlanta Braves. The veteran lefty has 92 strikeouts in 119 innings this season, posting a combined win-loss record of 5-7.
The Yankees are in a dogfight with the Boston Red Sox for the American League East. By adding Garcia, the Yankees hope that he will help with the back end of their starting rotation. Enns and Littell were prospects in the Yankees farm system.
