Embattled by addictions, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has announced he’s returning to the team. The announcement comes nearly a month after saying he’d miss the start of training camp and preseason.

In a note posted to his twitter, Gordon thanked Browns fans for their love, support and patience in the time he was away from the team to focus on his overall physical and mental health. After thanking everyone who played a part in his recuperation, he then made his announcement.

He went on to write: “As I humbly return to being a member of this team with an opportunity to get back to playing this game I love, I realize in order for me to reach my full potential, my primary focus must remain on sobriety and mental well being.”

This announcement comes at the end of a week that saw former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver, Dez Bryant, visit the team in hopes of signing a one-year deal with the Browns. It’s unclear if Gordon’s return will change any plans of the teams pursuit of Bryant.

In four seasons with Cleveland, Gordon has over 3000 yards, 15 touchdowns and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as well as a spot on the All-Pro Team in 2013. He missed 2015 and 2016 seasons after being suspended for drug problems.
