Carolina Forever! – Carolina Panthers 2023 Draft Profile

No one believed the Carolina Panthers had a chance to win the Super Bowl last season, but they also didn’t think they would start the season 1-4. Two head coaches, a GM, and a fire sale later and Carolina is staring down the barrel at the number one pick.

Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina

Felix Anundike-Uzomah, Edge, Kansas State

After trading for the top pick in the draft it’s almost a foregone conclusion that they will go for a quarterback. Bryce Young, despite concerns about his stature, is the most complete signal caller in the draft. For the Panthers they need a player like Young to pioneer the new era of the franchise.

The Panthers traded their best receiver in order to get the number one pick, so replacing that production for their new signal caller is paramount.

Josh Downs is a in-state product that has shown he can play in whatever system you place him in. His speed, hands, and big play ability make him a dark horse to be the most pro ready prospect out of this year’s class. Grabbing him will allow him and Young to grow together and mesh as the team builds on their success.

In order to be a complete team in a passing league you have to get to the opposing QB. Brian Burns is the team’s incumbent threat to quarterbacks, but they need to get him a partner. Felix Anundike-Uzomah is a big body pass rusher who is excellent against the run. Having both he and Burns gives the Panthers a fearsome tandem for years to come.

Come April 27th the Panthers will be on the clock and kickoff the 2023 NFL Draft. I can assure that the Panthers will start it off with a bang.
