Atlanta, Ga – The Atlanta Falcons will induct two new members into Falcons Ring of Honor that were instrumental in their last Super Bowl appearance. Owner and Chairman Arthur Blank and former quarterback Matt Ryan will be added to the list of other Falcon greats.
Currently, there are only 12 members attached to the franchise prestigious list. This is the first time since 2008 that two members have been added within the same class, Mike Kenn and Claude Humphrey.
Blank, who bought the Atlanta Falcons in 2002 was surprised with the news by former Falcons’ running back Warrick Dunn and wide receiver Roddy White.
Ryan, was surprised by head coach Raheem Morris after being invited to give a speech to the team. Ryan was the No. 3 overall pick in 2008 and has multiple team records, including passing yards (59,735), touchdowns (367), completions (5,242), passer rating (94.6) and 300-yard games (73).
The Falcons will honor the two Falcon icons on separate dates. Blank will be inducted on September 22nd, Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs and Ryan will be honored on October 3rd, Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
