NFL Power Rankings Week 14 – A Wall Full Of Writing

With five games left on the schedule, now is the time for NFL teams to make their move. No sense in looking at the past or crying over which players you don’t have. These last handful of games should be considered pseudo playoff games for about half of the league.

One misstep could knock you out of contention.

 

1. San Francisco 49ers (9-3)
Brandon Aiyuk is a very underrated wide receiver. He is averaging 18.5 yards per reception this year and he leads the 49ers in both receiving yards and touchdowns.

 

2. Baltimore Ravens (9-3)
The Ravens have aspirations of locking up the number one seed in the AFC. They’re only looking up at Miami currently and they go head to head with the Dolphins in week 16.

 

3. Philadelphia Eagles (10-2)
Could the only team in the NFL with ten wins need to go back to the drawing board? The Eagles have given up a total of 76 points in their last two games and their division lead is now one game over Dallas (their upcoming opponent).

 

4. Miami Dolphins (9-3)
Tyreek Hill is averaging 123.4 receiving yards per game and 15.9 yards per reception. He’s 519 yards away from being the first player with 2,000 receiving yards in a season.

 

5. Detroit Lions (9-3)
Detroit is 5-1 when they score 30 or more points in a game this season. They are ranked sixth in total points scored and second in total yards from scrimmage.

 

6. Dallas Cowboys (9-3)
The win over Seattle marks the second time this year Dallas has allowed 20 or more points and won the game. They are 2-2 when they allow at least 20 points.

 

7. Kansas City Chiefs (8-4)
The Chiefs have lost two out of their three games since their bye week. They average 16.2 points per game in their four losses this season.

 

8. Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4)
The Jaguars were four quarters away from taking over the number one seed in the AFC. A loss to the Bengals hurt, but losing Trevor Lawrence to an ankle sprain could be devastating to the rest of their season.

 

9. Houston Texans (7-5)
The Texans are on the verge of a playoff spot with a rookie head coach and quarterback. However, the injury to Tank Dell is a crushing blow to their offense.

 

10. Indianapolis Colts (7-5)
The Colts have gotten hot at the right time with a four game winning streak. They’ve put themselves right in the middle of a playoff race and (surprisingly) in contention for a division title.

 

11. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5)
The Steelers’ offense hasn’t looked stellar since firing their offensive coordinator. Maybe it’s just the players they have on offense.

 

12. Cleveland Browns (7-5)
Joe Flacco’s first start for Cleveland looked promising, with 254 yards passing and two touchdowns. Cleveland couldn’t get enough of a ground game going and their defense wasn’t much help.

 

13. Atlanta Falcons (6-6)
I don’t know how many votes he’ll get, but Jessie Bates should get heavy consideration for defensive player of the year. He has 92 total tackles, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown.

 

14. Green Bay Packers (6-6)
Green Bay has snuck into a playoff spot after winning their last three games. They’re averaging 26.3 points per game during their win streak.

 

15. Buffalo Bills (6-6)
Record wise, the Bills are one game out of the last playoff spot.  Buffalo will play three teams with winning records in their last five games.

 

16. Denver Broncos (6-6)
Denver had their five game win streak snapped, mostly due to multiple turnovers. The Broncos are winless when they turn the ball over multiple times in a game.

 

17. Los Angeles Rams (6-6)
The Rams have pushed their winning streak to three games and they’ve scored 30 or more points for the third time this season. They’re averaging 30.0 points per game during the streak.

 

18. Cincinnati Bengals (6-6)
Backup quarterback Jake Browning had his best game of the season with 354 passing yards and a touchdown versus Jacksonville. The Bengals playoff hopes are still alive, especially if he can continue to play this well.

 

19. Seattle Seahawks (6-6)
The Seahawks have lost three in a row, allowing a combined 89 points. They’re ranked 25th in total points allowed.

 

20. Minnesota Vikings (6-6)
Minnesota’s path to make the playoffs won’t be an easy road. They have to play three road games in their last five games, not to mention two games against division leader Detroit.

 

21. Los Angeles Chargers (5-7)
The Chargers are undefeated when they hold an opponent under 10 points this season, which is a good thing. The bad thing is they could only muster up six points in the game versus New England and a total of 16 points the last two weeks.

 

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-7)
Mike Evans recorded his third game of the season with at least 140 receiving yards in the win over Carolina. He’s now over a thousand yards for the season, which means he’s eclipsed that mark in every season he’s played in the NFL.

 

23. Las Vegas Raiders (5-7)
The Raiders still have slim playoff hopes, but they have to snap a two game losing streak. Their quest starts with a home game against Minnesota on Sunday.

 

24. New Orleans Saints (5-7)
Derek Carr is in concussion protocol and is also being checked for a rib injury. No word yet on who will play against Carolina, but one would assume Jameis Winston would get his first start of the season.

 

25. Tennessee Titans (4-8)
Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons sustained a knee injury versus Indianapolis and will be out a couple of weeks. That doesn’t bode well for their upcoming games against Miami and Houston.

 

26. New York Giants (4-8)
The Giants were on a two game winning streak before their bye week and three of their last five games will be at home. Unfortunately both of their contests against division leader Philadelphia will come in their final three games.

 

27. New York Jets (4-8)
The Jets turn the ball over way too many times. They’ve played two games without a turnover, but that means they have all 30 turnovers in just ten games.

 

28. Chicago Bears (4-8)
The Bears are a team that could’ve used a bye week a few weeks ago. Their five game stretch to end the season will feature four teams currently holding a playoff spot.

 

29. Washington Commanders (4-9)
Washington is now allowing 30.3 points per game and have given up exactly 45 points in each of their last two games. They’ve scored a total of 44 points combined in their last three contests.

 

30. Arizona Cardinals (3-10)
Second year tight end Trey McBride has made a big jump in production this season. He leads the Cardinals in receptions with 56 and receiving yards with 610.

 

31. New England Patriots (2-10)
The Patriots have played five games this season where they’ve failed to score double digits. It should come as no surprise they are winless in those games.

 

32. Carolina Panthers (1-11)
The Panthers have scored 20 or more points only three times this season. They are averaging 15.9 points per game.
