The Atlanta Braves returned from their short NL East road trip and defeated the reeling Philadelphia Phillies 5–3, giving them their 10th loss of the season. The win put the Braves at 19-8 for the season, the best record in the Major League.
Braves starting pitcher Grant Holmes got off to another hot start on the mound, retiring six of his first seven batters faced. However, a two-run home run by Trea Turner gave Philadelphia a 2–0 lead in the top of the third inning.
Ronald Acuña Jr. responded with a two-run home run of his own, following a leadoff single by Eli White, to tie the game 2-2.
Bryce Harper homered in the top of the fifth to put the Phillies back on top 3–2 in the top.
The Phillies maintained their one-run lead into the bottom of the sixth until Michael Harris II, who was brought in as a pinch hitter for White, hit a two-run double and put Atlanta back in front 4–3.
Jorge Mateo would score on a wild pitch by Andrew Painter to extend the Atlanta lead to two runs.
Holmes pitched six full innings, giving up seven hits and three earned runs while recording four strikeouts and earning his second win of the season.
Robert Suarez, worked through an unideal outing in which he gave up a hit, a walk and a wild pitch but was able to close out the game and get his third save of the year.
