The Atlanta Braves returned from their short NL East road trip and defeated the reeling Philadelphia Phillies 5–3, giving them their 10th loss of the season. The win put the Braves at 19-8 for the season, the best record in the Major League.
Braves starting pitcher Grant Holmes got off to another hot start on the mound, retiring six of his first seven batters faced. However, a two-run home run by Trea Turner gave Philadelphia a 2–0 lead in the top of the third inning.
Ronald Acuña Jr. responded with a two-run home run of his own, following a leadoff single by Eli White, to tie the game 2-2.
Bryce Harper homered in the top of the fifth to put the Phillies back on top 3–2 in the top.
