Titans Suffer An Embarrassing Loss In Their Worst Showing Of The Season

Nashville – The Tennessee Titans fell 25–3 in a touchdown-less performance during their Week 13 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Overview

For the first time this season, the Titans struggled in all three phases in a game. They were unable to generate momentum offensively, defensively or on special teams.

Rookie quarterback Cameron Ward finished 24-of-38 for 141 yards in a game where the passing attack never found traction. Jacksonville pressured him consistently, preventing him from settling into any rhythm.

Despite early success on the ground (36 yards from Tony Pollard on the opening drive), the Titans moved away from the run game. Pollard finished with just 60 rushing yards.

The passing game focused largely on underneath routes and boundary shots rather than attacking the middle of the field, an area that had yielded success in recent weeks.

Head coach Mike McCoy believed they could have taken shots down the field for big plays.

“You put a game plan together and you go execute it,” stated McCoy. “There are certain coverages that are going to be run that take you to making one of those hole shots.”

Defensively, Jacksonville capitalized on Tennessee’s predictability and lack of discipline. The Titans committed more personal fouls than points, with Jeffery Simmons and Arden Key each flagged during the chippy divisional matchup.

Tennessee has now fallen to 0–5 in the AFC South and extended its losing streak to seven.

Positives

  • None of note.

Negatives

  • Third-Down Inefficiency: 2-for-12 on third-down attempts.
  • Under 200 Yards: The offense failed to reach 200 total yards.
  • Turnover Trouble: Two turnovers, losing the turnover battle.

The Titans now go on the road to face the Cleveland Browns where they will look to regain momentum after an 0–4 home stand.
