Titans Battle In The Bay, Fall 37-24 Against The Niners

Santa Clara, CA – The Tennessee Titans saw their road trip end in a 37–24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. While battling through multiple injuries, Tennessee couldn’t keep pace with one of the NFC’s top contenders.

Overview

The Titans opened the game with a three-and-out and the 49ers quickly capitalized, jumping out to a 7–0 lead. Tennessee responded with a field goal but quarterback Brock Purdy and the 49ers’ offense struck again to extend the lead to 14–3.

Tennessee found a spark offensively behind a strong showing from running back Tony Pollard and improved play up front.

Pollard’s rushing attack moved the Titans into scoring range and quarterback Cameron Ward connected with fellow rookie tight end Gunnar Helm for a 34-yard touchdown to trim the deficit to 14–10.

Momentum swung decisively after that. San Francisco rattled off 17 unanswered points, creating a cushion the Titans couldn’t overcome.

The defense continued to fight, forcing a turnover that led to a 43-yard touchdown strike from Ward to wide receiver Vandy Jefferson, cutting the score to 31–17 and briefly keeping hope alive.

However, the 49ers closed the door down the stretch to secure the win.

Positives

Protection Up Front – Tennessee allowed zero sacks, a notable step forward for the offensive line.
Quarterback Growth – Ward posted his second multi-touchdown passing game of his young career.

Negatives

Injury Concerns – The Titans lost three safeties to injury: Mike Brown, Xavier Woods and Kevin Winston Jr.
Defensive Struggles – Tennessee surrendered 350-plus yards for the ninth time this season.

The Titans return to Nissan Stadium for a two-game homestand against the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints in Weeks 16 and 17.
